Pours a tangerine color with a one finger head. No cloudiness. Aroma is a bit underwhelming, hop character is mellow with hints of bitterness, but I can smell a lot of the alcohol in the nose. Alcohol is still there in the taste, but the hops are a bit more forward than with the aroma. Juicy flavorful hops with hints of peach, apricot, and citrus. Bitterness and alcohol are both dominant in the finish. Enjoyable and drinkable, but not particularly on the same level as some of the world class DIPAs. Good beer, the mouthfeel was silky and smooth and my favorite aspect which added to the drinkability.

Citrus combined with tropical fruit notes greet the nose. An orangish-yellow pour with a white ring ant no lacing. The taste is bitter, however, some balancing sweetness is present. Grapefruit and sweet tropical fruit come together with a nice bitter finish to make this a pleasing brew. Medium body with crisp carbonation. Somewhat of an oily mouthfeel. Very nice. Overall, a very drinkable DIPA.

Well balanced for double IPA . Very drinkable considering the high alcohol content. I buy it whenever it is available.

Nice golden pour with large white head and perfect lacing down the glass. Aroma of grapefruit and lemon. Taste amazing great malt background and nice citrus hops. It has a very good bittering hop but not to bitter. Overall a great example of a 2x ipa I could drink everytime I’m out.

Clear golden, small wispy white head. Delicious aroma, hoppy, fruity, citrus, grapefruit, pine sweet, light caramel - very inviting. Full body with quite impactful mouth feel. Bigtime hops on the palate and very bitter but not harsh finish. good beer held back a bit, could use a little more balance

Aroma is mainly hops and citrus. Maybe a little earlthy, floral, and grapefruit in the background. Tastes very hoppy and graprefuity. Smooth yet hoppy. Not too bitter of a finish.

bottle courtesy of umich03jm. not a big fan; just a hop bomb to me. aroma was alcohol and slight fruit. taste wasn’t balanced; hops started early and ended overly bitter with grapefruit and alcohol - this is why I don’t understand ipa’s?

Very impressed with this DIPA from Founders. Extremely flavorful without being too sweet or overwhelmingly hopped, has a nice spicy bite on the finish that is juicy and floral. Try it!

Pours a very pale golden with average head that sticks around and good lacing. Aroma is fragrant, fruity hops with orange peel and pine. A good balance of bready, biscuity malts in the aroma as well, sometimes lost on the hop bombs. Taste is juicy citrus - orange up front, then into a solid malt backbone before drying out a little with a grapefruit and grassy finish. The bitter bite lasts, but fades to the perfect level, letting some of that rich malt back in. Awesomely balanced Imperial IPA here. Drinkable with not much alcohol showing.

Lighter color than expected, almost yellowish with some gold hints to it. Aroma is big grapefruit and pine, with a subtle sweet notes. Tatse is citrusy hops with a honey sweetness to it, this beer has a very resiny, sticky mouthfeel. Overall very good, hides the ABV extremely well too...matches the quality I expect from founders.
