12oz into a tulip. Ive been waiting for this one awhile. Pours a hard orange with bright yellow undertones. Such an easy drinker considering the abv, thats cool and dangerous. Double trouble I guess. Taste is hoppy, melon, a bit of ginger, bitter and dry, but soothing going down. Well brewed and magnificent. No lasting head, but who needs one? Theres a mellow citrus flow that follows every sip and is quite enjoyable. Founders makes quality brews.

Pours a very pale golden with average head that sticks around and good lacing. Aroma is fragrant, fruity hops with orange peel and pine. A good balance of bready, biscuity malts in the aroma as well, sometimes lost on the hop bombs. Taste is juicy citrus - orange up front, then into a solid malt backbone before drying out a little with a grapefruit and grassy finish. The bitter bite lasts, but fades to the perfect level, letting some of that rich malt back in. Awesomely balanced Imperial IPA here. Drinkable with not much alcohol showing.

Lighter color than expected, almost yellowish with some gold hints to it. Aroma is big grapefruit and pine, with a subtle sweet notes. Tatse is citrusy hops with a honey sweetness to it, this beer has a very resiny, sticky mouthfeel. Overall very good, hides the ABV extremely well too...matches the quality I expect from founders.

Bottle. Crystal clear golden rod color. Heavy hop grapefruit aroma. Great hoppy flower taste. Slightly bitter at finish. Very solid.

I have to say, before anything else gets said… this has a pretty creepy label. Now that I have that off my chest, let’s get on with the good stuff. Extremely clear-bodied, it has a light orange, almost yellowish color hue and an off-white head. It smells thin, low on caramel malts and high on hops, yet still gorgeous in the nose with a touch of sweetness decorating an incredible hop profile. It’s crystal clean and divine. The hops in the aroma are herbal and plant-like, vaguely reminiscent of mint. Clean and powerful! It’s just as thin in the mouth, with no malts obstructing the herbal, minty hop prowess of this beer. The finish is almost resinous, bitter (but modestly so) with that same herbal, plant-like character teaming up with alcohol to offer a really classy experience. The lips become sticky, with a feeling of what seems like hop resin and alcohol crystallizing on the lips. It really is a classy beer, respectable, powerful, and worth of your time. Don’t dare drink this out of the bottle. Man, this is good.

Pours a lightly misty blond, with a finger-and-a-half of fairly white, thin-laced head. Smells of sweet cedar, juniper, herbs, and tropical nuts. Taste starts out with sweet malt and herbal hop acids, and begins to take on notes of brazil-nut, and even walnut. Finish is bitter, and lightly earthy/herbal. Mouthfeel is medium-to-full and slightly sticky. Carbonation is medium-to-high.

Poured from bottle into IPA glass. Pours a very clear golden color with an incredibly thick white fluffy head. Minimal to no lacing on the glass. Aroma is hoppy, piney, citrusy, and pineapple-y. Taste has a hoppy punch up front with similar notes as the aroma. Hides the 9.4% ABV well. Lingering bite even after each swallow is finished. Otherwise, goes down really smoothly.

Big thanks to William for hooking me up with this! Pours a hazy yellow, smells fantastic, lots of grapefruit, citrus and other hop goodness. Taste up front is loads of bitterness followed by a grapfruit hoppy taste and hints of sweetness, the finish is slightly dry buy overall very crisp. Great IPA

Excellent DIPA make sure you drink this one fresh. It isn’t even close to the same after a few months of age are on this one. The taste doesn’t even allude to the ABV’s in this one.

A good friend told me that he did a blind taste test with his wife who had proclaimed Hop Slam to be her favorite beer. She was surprised to have preferred this beer. Maybe I will have to do the same, because I still believe Hop Slam to be far superior. Poured far lighter than I expected. So much so, that I rather rudely inquired with our server whether he had brought out the correct beer. Smelled of cotton candy. Tasted was a mix of piney hops and honey. Great beer, but not the greatest. Draft - Augustine’s - Atlanta, GA

Date stamp is smudged off but its definitely from April, 2013. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A - Pours a hazy dark yellow/orage with a cap of white foam. Really nice lacing and retention. S&T- Tropical fruit juice, tons of bitter grapefruit and a touch of onions. Taste is bitter grapefruit juice and some pith. Earthy and a bit danky. A nice bready malt backbone. A really solid grapefruit heavy brew. O - I really enjoy this one, however its hop profile is not my favorite.
