3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pros: Great appearance. Surprised to see it’s a natural ale, with a lot going on in the bottom of the bottle. Has some lemon and pine going on in the nose, but it’s not bright, or fresh.
Cons: After 2-3 months in the bottle, it just doesn’t do much for me. It’s almost not ratable. Doesn’t have the freshness that I desire. Simplistic malt profile. Hops lacks vibrancy and pungency.

Nose is predominantly pine, with some caramel malt in the background. Flavor is same plus orange marmalade, grapefruit rind, crackery/doughy/crystal malt. Really great balance.

12 oz bottle into a tulip. Light golden color. Pine characteristics dominate the aroma and flavor. Quite bitter, but it doesn’t destroy the palate like others in this style do. Very good beer.

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear medium amber, bubbly white head, lots of lace. Taste is caramel malt, but it doesn’t last. Strong citrus hops blanket the whole thing and float like a magic carpet to a long, long finish. Malt attempts to re-emerge, but with little success. A big ale, great for hop-heads, but good for the rest of us, as well.

Pours a nice amber gold color with nice lacing and some head retention. Smells piney and hoppy. Has a resiny characteristic. Finishes strong and bitter, but not over the top. Big fan of this beer!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Look - Very light orange body. Little lacing. Thinner than average white head.
Smell - Malt but when swirled Pineapple and grapefruit. I’m glad to see citrus come through on this imperial.
Taste - Smell translates to taste. Stronger citrus flavor than DD.
Feel - Not a carb bomb. Heavy. Alcohol doesn’t stick to tongue.
Overall - Better than devil dancer. I like the characteristics of a lighter beer with this heavy.

Floral and bitter, with a grapefruit, orange, lemon undertow. Sticky and heavy - with lots of malts to back it without getting in the way.

12 oz bottle, bottled on 5/25/15.
Clear dark golden, dense white head, sticky lace.
Dank, citrusy, and tropical (mango) hops dominate the aroma, with some subtle sweet notes.
Flavor is sweet malt upfront, with some tropical hops midpalate, and a sweet citrusy finish.
