Pros: Great appearance. Surprised to see itís a natural ale, with a lot going on in the bottom of the bottle. Has some lemon and pine going on in the nose, but itís not bright, or fresh.

Cons: After 2-3 months in the bottle, it just doesnít do much for me. Itís almost not ratable. Doesnít have the freshness that I desire. Simplistic malt profile. Hops lacks vibrancy and pungency.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2014 Its in a 4-pack, with date on bottle necks. Pours dark orange with a tangerine hue. This has a small, half-finger head that fades fairly fast. It has plenty of evenly dispensed particulate, if you inspect it closely in a clean, thin glass. It is not hazy, but it is not clear. It has a great aroma, lots of dry hopping and a healthy dose of malt to back it up. You wonít get a crushing west coast aroma, but it is typical Founders, malt-heavy with citrus and some very sweet malt. It hits the front of the mouth with a burst of bitterness, however the medium-full body evens that out very fast with a huge malt load and the sweetness that finishes all the way down. It does have a slightly bitter back-end, but that is well placed and helps break the sweet malt load. It finishes dry and has some minimal alcohol warming on the way down, but the alcohol is very well hidden. It is like the Devil Dancerís little brother. It is not a session brew, so dont plan on 6-8 of them. It is great, but will put a buzz on. Its not a blow-your-shoes-off Devil Dancer, but it is not a joke either.! Its a perfect Double IPA!

Poured from bottle into tulip glass. Opaque straw color, with thin head. Smell is very fruity and malty(read as: awesome). Taste is a lot more bitter than it smells, with a lingering hoppy sharpness. Feel is good. Overall, a pretty solid brew.

Pours a golden orange with little head, nice aroma, taste is a bit oily and boozy but still pretty good...particularly for a 9.4%'er. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Consumed from the La Binchoise Tulip of Niftiness and Creepy Clowns. Almost clear, if not, maplewood color. Tight white head that coats the glass. Amusing label on a squat west coast 12 ozíer. Nice malty aroma -- honey, vanilla, citrus notes. Thereís a chance that Iím drinking this a little on the cool side so Iím going to take it slow. Resinous hops, stiff grapefruit notes while it was cooler. Pineapple sweetness and tongue-wringing hop bitterness. Malty in the high palate ABV is apparent, but masked pretty well. Intense trailing bitterness - especially on the sides of the tongue. Market Square Liquors.

aroma: apricot, pineapple, citrus, some grass--all the usual and welcomed suspects. appearance: brilliantly clear gold with creamy white head and lots of carb bubbles taste: medium sweet pineapple and mandarin oranges, some sweet lime, fade into the background as floral and grassy bitterness blooms on the tongue. palate: medium bodied with oily to creamy mouthfeel; lingering floral bitterness on the roof of the mouth that is refreshing and gives a stronger hop accent to subsequent sips. iím a huge hopslam fan, and always thought it was better than double trouble, but was disappointed with bellís 2014ís release of their famous DIPA. this 2014 release of DOUBLE TROUBLE is superior. good work, founders, as always.

Pours a slightly cloudy classic golden color with a short, white head. Orange and grapefruit peel and note of lime make up the bouquet. Relatively light and crisp mouthfeel. Grapefruit flavor from start to finish, with a bit of pine underneath. The fruit flesh favor even persists with the citrus bitterness after the finish. Magical.

On tap . Super hoppy but fades well. A great compliment to devil dancer which is more of a sweet wet hippy note. This thing is dry. Dry dry dry. Smell is citrusy and earthy. A solid beer but not my favorite from founders.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique August 2013. Great beer and and even greater label. You can really feel the big alcohol kick in this beer. Hops are everywhere and take over both the aroma and flavour.

Orange, slightly cloudy pour with a tiny white head which fades quickly. Big grapefruit, citrus and pine aroma. Malty, citrusy up front, bitter, slight sweetness comes through with more citrus.
