Pours hazy dark straw with off-white clingy head. Nose is wheaty malt, lemongrassy hops, tangerine, grapefruit. Tastes malty, floral, with some bubblegum (that was a big advertised trait of this one), heavy hops, tangerine, pineapple, florals. One of the hoppiest, if not the hoppiest wheat beer I have ever quaffed. Outstanding, and another winner from Founders.

Tap at Capones. Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a small creamy white head that left some lacing. Aroma of handful of fresh American hops. Lots of orange and tropical fruit notes. Very light wheat notes and bready malt coming through. Flavor was also all American hops. Orange, grapefruit, flowers and tropical fruits. Hop bitterness is moderate. Enough malt to balance and give nice mouthfeel...but this beer is all about the hops.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 BeerBunker (709) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - JUN 30, 2009
On tap at Founders Fest 2009. Pours golden with a foamy white head. Aroma is of wheat, hops, citrus, and malt. Taste started off with a surprisingly big amout of hops to it. Lots of citrus, mostly grapefruit along with the hops. Has a backbone of malt and wheat that compliment the hops very well. A very good wheat, and a very drinkable beer. This was the perfect beer for the insanely hot day Founders Fest turned out to be.

Served on draft at Graydon’s Crossing, Grand Rapids, MI. Pours a hazy straw yellow color with a medium creamy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Bready and caramelly aroma with peach and other stone fruits. The taste is bitter hops, bready and nutty notes, light spice and faint fruity notes in the finish. Medium bodied. Very nice wheat beer.

On tap at the Bavarian Lodge, Lisle, IL. Poured a hazy gold tone with a white, foamy head and clingy ribbons of lacing. The nose was strong, with notes of spicy floral and citrus. Smooth malt was more evident in the flavor with some tangerine notes, and a solid, lingering, hop bitterness. Medium bodied with a fresh, crisp mouthfeel. Nice balance all around.

A couple pours at Founders Fest 09 presented as "Founders Fest Wheat" on sign. Pours a hazy golden with a sudsy white bubbly head. Lovely fresh hop aroma, grapey, quite refreshing, light candied wheat. Flavor follows, very fresh, citrus, pine, green, off-dry, resin, very grapey, medium light wheat malt profile. Reminds me of a hybrid of New Glarus Crack’d Wheat and Founders Harvest. So fresh I burped up a hop pellet.
