3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nitro at brewery. Beautiful looking beer, black with large thick tan head that stays through to the finish. Nose, is subdued coffee and chocolate. As with most nitro this has an extremely soft, smooth texture to it, but the finish is slightly watery. The body for a 4.2% beer is a feat on it’s own. Sometimes this is exactly what I want.

Nitro on tap at Founders. Creamy and roasty. Hazelnut flavor, a bit thin though. Very solid effort. Would try again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nitro at brewery. the pour is black with a creamy head expected with a nitro. The taste is thin as the abv would indicate. Lots of hazelnut flavor mixed with malt. Decent brew but want more flavor.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap nitro at Founders KBS release. Poured black with thick beige head. Aroma pretty light oats and hazelnut. Light carb light bod. Taste pretty bland watery oats. Pretty upset. Wanted this to be just like or better then frangelic mountain brown but its missing so much.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Founders. The pour is a beautiful black with a nice tan nitro head. There isn't much of a lace, but the nitro head is beautiful. The aroma is really nutty. There is a nice roasted malt to it, and it almost carries a bit of peanut butter to it. The flavor is really nutty. There is a light dry roast on the finish, but it's light. There is a lot of peanut butter and a roast, just like the aroma. The mouth feel is really thin for a nitro, with a good carbonation but it falls off the tongue quickly. The aftertaste is lingeringly nutty, but disappointing.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Founders. Pitch black pour with a thick, creamy head that just doesn’t move. I always love the appearance of nitro beers. The aroma is just straight up hazelnut and coffee beans. Smells amazing. Tastes the same with a huge creaminess from the nitro. No sweetness. Dry and bitter in the finish. Medium body. Really good beer but some sweetness would really help this.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nitro draft to taster at Founders. Looks good; settles into a fairly opaque dark brownish black with creamy light beige head and a hint of translucency at the right angle. Smells good too, dark malt, dark chocolate, and hazelnut. Tastes like it smells, but not as robust. Nce and smooth on the palate. Damn tasty, especially for being 4.2%.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap @ Founders: Nitro-tap produces a beer that looks like traditional Guinness on draught... Beautiful, bold, fully opaque black body with a silky, long-lasting, ecru & leathery head that gives me foam mustaches with each sip. Lovely aroma of fresh hazelnut coffee beans, ground & milled oats, faint roast, & a milk chocolate-y sweetness that balances the beans perfectly. Taste is similar, tasting like an iced hazelnut coffee, black, but with the addition of some creamy chocolate that adds a nice little touch of sweetness. Roasted barley & notes of toasted oat flakes in the peripherals, but this is a hazelnut coffee bomb. Very nice mouth feel, likely thanks to the nitro, smooth & creamy. I was one of the few who liked Frangelic Mountain Brown (since I love hazelnut) but this take it to a whole other level, it’s even better as a creamy nitro stout.
