COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This liquid dream pours a hazy golden orange straw color with a large puffy white two-finger head. First sip of this beer rewards with a super juicy hop presence bursting with fresh orange and lemon citrus then continues to introduce toasted malt undertones.

Big hop aroma of citrus, honey & flowers. Small white head that fully diminished that left little lace. Flavor is citrus and then bitterness. Watery light/Med body. Good.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2007 nice full hoppy scent. my bottle said 7% but who knows. nice classic color to it as well. the taste is hoppy as you would expect, but i found them somewhat less aggressive than what i was expecting from the scent. could be because it was "wet-hopped". easy drinking APA.

Growler. Thanks to Scott and Emily. Ciderlike in color and a small white head. Aroma. From time to time I encounter a beer that is just so damned good to just sniff in the aroma. This was one. The hops, fresh hops I’m told, less than 24 hours old, make for an olfactory treat. Nice citrus nose. I lingered. Medium body with a smooth feel in the mouth. The flavor held that hops tang but there were elements of fruit, apple perhaps, adding a touch of sweetness, too. Another very impressive brew from a top brewery. When the growler was empty, I sniffed again. That luscious aroma was still there. All added up to more of an IPA than an American Pale Ale.

On tap at Founder’s: I ate this with what at first seemed to be a reuben with chicken and cream cheese in addition to the normal decor. A little bit of tanginess in the salivary glands. This implies to me a high level of acidity. Overall, a tasty brew well suited to drinking with eating.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2006 On tap at brewpub. Grapefruit and grass flavor is different and memorable. I wish it was available in bottles! I suspect that the 2006 batch was superior and different than the 2004 brew also reviewed here.

I don’t know how they did it, but they made an almost exact replica of SNHA! Huge citrus nose, hop cones MUST be lurking underneath the thin frothy white head. Golden and slightly amber with so much fresh hop aroma. Medium bodied with a sharp hop bite at the start, grapefruit, orange rind and hints of pine resin. Malts keep the body solid and toasty. Fruitiness is more apparent as it warms, apples and biscuit underneath the huge hoppiness. Bitter and lively at the finish. The pine oil aftertaste makes me wish i could sit here all day with pints of this.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2008 thin white head...hazy golden body; strong grapefruit aroma, extreme grapefruit hop flavor...a little too hoppy for me; quite refreshing nonetheless; still, founders can make a good beer

On tap at Founders for their 2004 Harvest Celebration. Hazy straw body topped by a thin off-white head and a nice clump of Amarillo hops flowers. Citrus aroma with hints of orange peel, lemon and grapefruit rind. Flavor was similarly citrusy (mostly grapefruit rind) with some pine. The malts were subdued but added a slightly toasty character to the beer. Not too complex. Might border on India Pale Ale territory.
