3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from a 4 pack from Binny’s (Orland Park, IL). Highly hazed (almost opaque) butterscotch with an enormous offwhite cakey head. Aromas are powerful, large citrus grapefruit nose with some resinous pine character. Laces extraordinarily well. Taste is a bit more muted, citrus and floral, pine, carmel malts balance well. Nice bitter hoppy finish. Very nice.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle, from Capone’s (Norristown, PA). Pours clear golden, capped with a large, frothy white head. Crisp grapefruit hop aroma, with some grassy notes, and a minimal amount of malt in the background. Flavor begins with caramel malt for an instant, then grapefruity and earthy hops hit the palate. The hops are not overly aggressive, and stick around for a lengthy finish. Decent example of the style.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Poured a cloudy gold color with a huge white head. Aroma of citrus and a bit of malt. Flavor was fairly balanced with a good malt backing. Finish was a bitter grassy flavor. Medium body with strong carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This brew pours a lightly hazed pale straw color with a thick and foamy white head that recedes slowly. Sticky patches of lace on the glass. Sweet oranges and hops in the nose plus a touch of earthy malt. Medium-bodied with a moderately hoppy flavor along with a strong undercurrent of citrus and grainy malt. The finish is resiny hops with a lingering grassy hops aftertaste. Solid all around.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Honkeybra for this brew. Monster head. Great citrus and floral and spicy hop aroma. Flavor isn’t quite there. Aroma is the best part of it, but it’s very drinkable and yummy. Founder’s kicks ass.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 31, 2009 ****Rerate**** Not sure if this is a fresher batch, or just better, but I’m bumping it up to a 4.0 from the original 3.8. Juicy citrus abound in the bottle I’m drinking now. Fantastic IPA!
12oz bottles courtesy of fiver29 and StFun. Pours a cloudy hefe peach color with a huge 4 finger foamy white head, but only spotty lacing. Nose is all floral hops. Taste is floral and sweet citrus hops with some malt in the background and a light resin finish. Medium creamy mouth feel. Delicious – thanks guys!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by NachlamSie. Pours hazy gold with off-white head. The aroma is quite hoppy, grapefruit, various citrus notes, and orange-blossom honey. The flavor is lemony hops with ample bitterness. There is some grass and raw grain in there, too. Quite a good brew.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
draft at sheffield’s. a bit hazy yellow. piney hops, but also a lot of citrus and orange. definitely fresh/wet hopped. had a gumballhead for comparison next, and the latter was very watery by comparison. founders’s beer had a very citrusy, grassy flavor. i think i could get sick of it after 4 or so glasses, but otherwise it was the big winner at sheff’s.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to crazynelson on Ba for this one. Pours really hazy gold with a huge frothy eggwhite head. Aromas of grassy, slight citrus and some slight malt. Flavor of big grassy hops and pine with a nice malt balance. Medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Very resinous. I wish this was a little fresher as I think even the month or so this has been out has hurt it some.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2011 12oz bottle. Pours a beautiful hazy golden yellow orange with a white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of tangerine and grapefruit citrus. Huge fresh citrus hop flavors with a pleasantly bitter finish of pine and resin with slight bready malts. Another personal favorite from Founders.
