The Dan Journal #138. Tasted 11/19/07. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a dull golden hue. Ring of off-white head. Mild grainy honey aromas. Mild duklled yet nice stickiness. Acidic bitter and tangy. Tight effervescence. More soapy. Citrusy and candy flavors. Of the three Fresh hop brews tasted, this got the silver!

Strong pine notes, with a touch of grassiness in it. Pours a hazy orange (with visible particles) with almost no white head. Strong earthy notes are balanced by pine and grass, with a touch of bitterness. Quite a tasty beer, but not quite as bitter as I expected.

12oz - Aroma is snappy citrus and resinous hops with a touch of caramel malt to smooth it out. Pours cloudy pale orange with a small head and great lacing. Flavor matches aroma leaning more towards orange than the grapefruit in the nose. Palate is chewy and tart. A very tasty APA if you like hops.

12 oz bottle. Olive orange with a white head; clouded with a profusion of swirling tiny bits. Nose of pink grapefruit and caramel spruce. Thick and creamy, fresh and juicy. Hops provide a banana-like smoothness with squirts of orange and grapefruit. Soft, bready finish, numbing. Fantastic! I immediately wanted another.

Bottle: pours a cloudy hazy orange with little bits of unfiltered goodness floating around, hoppy, citrus aroma, nice hoppy flavor, very good APA. Probably one of the better ones I’ve had.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Stine (1434) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 18, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 5, 2007 Poured from a 12 oz. Cloudy, dandelion hued pour. Crisp floral and mango notes, peach, and bitter cashew skins on the nose; these hops are of the delicate aromatic breed, lacking in a favorable way the bruising resinous punch. Rather it’s bright, laid back, and soothing. Restrained but still bold bitterness in lively fruity and grass hop tastes. Pineapple, melon rinds, and just a touch of burnt popcorn toward the back. Brisk and light in the mouth; quite smooth and simply refreshing. Not overwrought in any way, though also not sacrificing any of its lovely and ample wet hop presence. Thanks for sharing, Ken!

12 oz bottle - pours out a hazy straw color with a supple white foamy head. aroma is dripping with hops - centennial? pine sap, grapefruit citrus, and a clean neutral yeast profile. with all the fresh hops in the forefront of the aroma, i think i expected a bitterer, hoppier beer but the wet-hop sensation seems evident really only in the aroma. nice pale malt structure and overall a well-made beer.

12oz bottle, courtesy of pantanap (and others as extras!). Thanks, Kan! Pours a hazy, yellowish golden color; off-white head with decent, fine-bubbled lacing. Very pleasant, resiny citrus and grapey hop presence; oily, dripping hops; relaxed bitterness. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: plenty of oily, wet hops and dense minerals, citrus; there’s a grapey note running throughout; lively carbonation, with toasty grain maltiness underneath; chewy and drinkable, with just an excellent oily wet hoppiness. Medium, toasty grain and grapes in the finish; no overt bitterness or astringency.

Bottle. Pours Golden with a haze of floaters. bubbly white head. Aroma is flower, pine, and citrus hops, yeast. The taste is much the same, the hops blended very well and the malt and yeast underlay the flavors to mildly tone down the hops. Very crisp and wet feeling on the mouth, the aftertast is hops, but not overly done. Very good hoppy beer, not over the top. Would be good to recommend to someone wanting to try a hoppier beer.

Bottle and served in my Unibroue tulip: A hazed golden hue is topped by a long lasting frothy head that left very good lace upon the glass. The aroma has noticeable vapours of fresh citric and piney hops, biscuity malts, dusty yeast, and a hint of white pepper. The taste is not has powerful has I expected by still displays a noteworthy resiny, herbal, orange zest and grapefruit character over a bed of grains. A light hop spice and metallic dry finish rounds off the experience. The mouth feel is lively with just a hint of alcohol showing up as it warms, very dry chalky finish. A very good Pale Ale (abit is more IPA than APA). Not a hopbomb but enough bitterness not to disappoint.
