4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 ChillCoat (1030) - Concord, California, USA - DEC 16, 2007Bottle via trade with Jvittorio4187. Pour is pretty murky. light orange in color with a sizable white head that leaves nice lacing. Citrusy hops dominate the aroma along with some fruity notes (apricot). Very hop forward but amazingly not bitter. The hop aroma would suggest an IPA but the flavor and bitterness is very subdued. Very fruity with a dry maltiness. Dry finish with a pleasant bitterness. At this point I would assume this beer has been out for some time, it has held up quite well! Nice.

Draft long ago at Beer Authority. Nice spicy hop profile but the bitterness is a tad out if balance.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2013 Founders "Harvest Ale": if I planted a little barley plant, and than I planted a little "Hops" plant, and than I planted a silly little strain of yeast, and throw it all in an unruly mash I would wish to HARVEST a MAN’s BEER: Blatz. That was not to be, so I tried this crap, and while it is not what you would want to harvest on most nights, it is acceptable. It’s not unadulterated tripe that you would get from Colorado (Coors, I’m LOOKING RIGHT AT YOU) but it is certainly not on par with the Elysium Delights that springs forth when you gargle with Milwaukee’s finest, Blatz. That’s how I roll, bitches.

Bottle thanks to Rian
Colour: ever so slightly hazy orange/copper amber
Smell: lovely hoppy, pineapple, grassy, a tiny bit if lime and lemon bitters, and a slight hint of yeast and malts, pretty damn tasty !
Taste: start is quite on the bitter side with slightly sweet malty notes, then comes in somthing soapy and grassy with some slight pepperness and yeasty flavours, lime peels and orange zests are deffinitly noticeable in the end, overall this is a very smooth easy too drink and super refreshing beer, absolutly love it !
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Jamesthebrit (54) - Greenville, South Carolina, USA - FEB 6, 2013
A: Floral, hint of malt. Subtle citrus. Smooth
A: Slight haze in a medium golden color. A bit on a lighter side.
T: Certainly not a light beer. Good balance of hops, citrus, and malt. And when I mean good balance I mean great balance.
P: A bit of lingering bitterness is offputting but smooth on the palate with a pretty solid finish.
Overall the first couple bottle of this I had I enjoyed very much but thought nothing of it... But this time, bottle number three, I realize that for what this beer is, it’s pretty amazing. It’s nothing big or epic but what you have here is the best showing of what a basic beer can be. Good hops, good balance and nothing offputting about it. As an easy drinking, everyday beer, this is one of the best.

Clear orange beer, irregular white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, mainly citrus, pineapple, some passion fruit, bit sugary, peaches. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit fruity, citrus, nice grassy hops, bitterness, somewhat piny. Aftertaste: nice citrus flavours, grapefruit, exotic fruits, dry bitter ending. Lovely brew, too bad it comes out in winter, because I would love drinking this on a hot summer day!

Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter, a little less bitter than the aroma suggests, would like more. Finish is lightly bitter. Medium bodied ,moderate carbonation. Nice IPA.
