Caramel, malty and spicy aroma, really quite pleasant. Medium red-amber in color with a goodly amount of carbonation. The caramel/spice aspect carries over into the flavor, where it mingles with Willamette and Hallertau hops, producing a pretty nicely balanced beer. Not too sweet, and with some appreciable bitterness for the finish. Good balance, too. This was probably my favorite beer at Founders Hill. Give it a shot if you’re in the neighborhood.
