I’m going to agree with Badnews on this one. The new things I’ve had from Founders haven’t lived up to the thunder of their older, innovative, more solid beers (i.e., Breakfast Stout, IIIPA, many of their Rye Ales). This was a weak attempt to satisfy those seeking Oberon. Crisp, finish. Lacks complexitiy. A little too sweet. Where is the Founders I discovered on my 21st birthday. There website brags of their throwing caution to the wind and bucking of tradition, but why are they producing this ale which is far below their talent and potential.

On tap at the brewery, served in a tasting glass. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. The head fades slowly and leaves minimal lace. The nose has huge lemon and citrus, with honey and crisp dry malts. The flavour is honey sweet with lemon, wheat and crisp pale malts. The finish is long and honey sweet with some herbs. On the palate, it is medium in body with a creamy smooth texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice honey sweet wheat beer. The honey is perhaps a bit too prominent, as it cancels out the nice dry wheat notes. 2011-08-16

Draft at Founders taproom. Pours a cloudy honey color. White medium sized head. Citrus aroma. Taste of wheat, honey, and oranges. Sweet aftertaste. Just had a sampler of this and tasted the pint my wife drank. Not a bad beer. Not something I would order at Founders because they have so many better beers, but this is a nice beer that your wife can sip on while you try something more adventurous.

Delicious. One of the most perfect summmer brews there is. Light, sweet, and slightly sticky is the best way to describe this beer! It finishes well, which is the honey attribute, and is quite refreshing! VERY smooth!

On tap at founders. This beer is flavorful, but what I like about it the most is the sweet honey aftertaste. It may be one of the sweeter beers I have had. I quite enjoyed it.

On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy straw with creamy white head. Aroma is off dry wheat and citrus with some sulphur. Flavor is sweeter peach, wheat, citrus, a little sulphur again with spice, honey, nice. Medium, creamy body. The honey is there but well blended with the rest of the beer, well done and sessionable.

Had on tap for something different and wasn’t to disappointed. Its not to crazy, it is a wheat after all, and the honey added a lot of sweetness to it. They could almost bottle this for the market it would sell to, but a lot probably wouldn’t get bought. Still, pretty good for a change of pace.

A mediocre wheat brew on tap at the brewery. Pour was light brown in color with a small fizzy head. Taste had so little honey, with a lot of sweetness. Very plain and bland.

Draft at Founders. I had the name as Honey Bee Wheat. Golden amber with small rocky head. Light aroma with sweet tone. Light wheat and honey flavor. Medium body with short honey finsih. This may be a shot at another Michigan brewery spring brew.

this is another substandard founders beer.....cloudy yellow hazy appearance with little white head...aroma is typical of a wheat with hints of honey and sugar...flavor is similar; nothing special here
