12oz bottle pours like used motor oil with little to no head and leaves an oily coating on the glass. Aromas of roasty malts, caramel, coffee, and slight alcohol. Mildly bitter flavor. Delicious.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Fresh bottle dated 12/13/13. Pour is thick and black with the classic thin chocolate ice cream head which disappears in less than a minute. Lots of alcohol legs. Smell is hoppy boozy and bitter with coffee liquorice and bakers chocolate. Taste is big with sweet and bitter chocolate malt, tobacco, smoke and coffee. Big hoppy dark chocolate finish along with some booze. This would definitely benefit from aging to smooth out a bit, but is nonetheless balanced and nice to sip. Mouthfeel chewy and thick like I would expect.

Bottle. Dark brown/black pour with a chocolate head. Vanilla and dark lasted malt aromas. Dark roasted malt and mild bitter chocolate highlights. Vanilla, and mochachino lowlights. Rich and silky smooth mouthfeel. Very good body. A damn solid imperial stout.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from a bottle. The aroma is very strong. There are distinct smells of coffee, chocolate and a slight smoky smell. The appearance is pitch black basically with a minimal tan head. The taste is very bitter, considering it is 90 ibu. The palate has a full body and a long finish. Overall this was a delicious beer that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an imperial stout. This completely met my expectations and I am very happy I was able to get my hands on it. Founders really has impressed me with their beers and I want to try more from them.

Poured from a bottle at home. Pours a dark color with a caramel color head. smell is of coffee with hints of cocoa. Another Stout from Founders that is really good and solid. Taste is much the same, with a bitter ending, just like a good coffee.
