I stugan med Isabel. Växlande väder. Tände en brasa och öppnar en flarra till nån typ ost jag aldrig hört talas om förr. Tydligt rostad med kaffeton. Kraftigt besk men samtidigt behaglig. Bra balans på sötma och beska. Riktigt trevlig imp stout som lyftes en nivå till med denna mystiska ost.

Bottle. Thick, inky dark brown pour with a small amount of chocolate brown head. Chocolate, coffee and liquorice in the aroma, with notes of vanilla, coconut, and tiramisu. Flavour is a little boozy, with tons of roasty malt, chocolate and coffee, with vanilla, coconut and cream. Very thick and heavy on the palate, sticky and creamy and lingers in the mouth. Absolutely phenomenal.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2014 Pours a thick black with barely half a finger of dark brown head. The aroma is dark with hints of milk chocolate, iron, truffles, forest floor, marzipan and dark roasted malts. Palate is full bodied. This is semi-sweet with quite a bit of warmth from the alcohol and a slight acidity on mid-palate. Bitterness kicks in on the finish and stays for a good minute. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2010 Bottling... Poured near black with a thin forming, khaki head. Aroma of dense cocoa, mocha, drinking chocolate. Thick mouthfeel. A hint of oxidation but still full bodied with lots of roast, charred grains, and dark chocolate. Drinking great and really smoothed out. This is some nice stuff.

Wow that is robust. Pours a headless pure black oil with a ton of alcohol legs. The nose has heavy roasted espresso and malt characters as well as big alcohol aromas. Very robust palate with a great profile of espresso and dark chocolate. The finish is warm, boozy and fitting.

Bottle at home. Pours oily black with tan head which reduces to circling the glass. Some lacing. Aroma is creamy chocolate, coffee hints, burnt malts, earth, lactose. Flavour is creamy roasted coffee chocolate. Bittering dry earthy oak finish. Alcohol warms the finish but is managed exceptionally well. Minimal carbonation. Full luscious body. Flavours is long lasting. So moreish. Exceptional.
