Draft. Pitch black and topped with head the color of Nesquik that sticks around for a good long while. Aroma is resplendent with smoky cocoa, vanilla, toasted marshmallow and a hint of raisin. The flavor has a little less going on, thought there’s a nice amount of plum, raisin and molasses before a roastier espresso and toast finish. Surprisingly fruity, though smooth smokiness rises between sips. Creamy medium body, high prickly carbonation. A very nice, balanced and complex RIS.

Black, opaque, light brown head. Deep, rich malt with dark bread, coffee chocolate, a little licorice, burnt sugar, raisins. Warming but smooth, hides the 10.5 abv very well. Very good imperial stout.

(350ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours inky black with a small ring of lingering pale brown bubbles with lace. Aroma cold coffee, molasses, leather, wet earth, liquorice, unsweetened chocolate and dried fruit beneath. Palate lush classic imperial stout with dark chocolate cake and cold coffee, moderate earthy roast at first, sweet toffee/molasses malt, a bit of dark dried fruit. The roast starts building in the middle though, increasingly intense with a bitter coffee bean character, some licorice and earth as well, cacao bean too. Towards the finish the roast is strong, lightly smoky and dry with coffee and cacao lightly offset by malt. Aftertaste bone dry dusty roast. Medium full slightly syrupy body with light carbonation. A "no frills" imperial stout and a really superb one at that, nice flavour concentration and lovely roast notes. Great sipper.

SB Lund, flaska. Fint mörkt skum. Svartvsom olja. Hög viskositet. Läder rök rostad malt inte överhumlad. Mjuk och rund polerad ton utan motstånd i halsen. Angenäm. Fint kolsyrad. Drar fram nysningar vilket är ett bra betyg..

Bottle. 2009 Vintage. RB Meeting Vienna March Edition. Thanks to Mmahut. Black body with tan head. Aroma is coffee, dried fruits. Taste is coffee bitterness with some chocolate and hints of toffee. Aftertaste is roasted malts bitterness balanced by some malts sweetness. Was expecting a little bit more will rerate this a little bit fresher.
