Very dark brown with a tiny brown head. Fruity and malty notes. Malt, fruit, chocolate and hops. Full body with a long, bitter sweet finish.

Bottle from my little brother. Pours a sexy, viscous motor oil black with small amount of frothy mocha/dark tan head. As soon as it hits the glass a huge roasty aroma of coffee and bitter dark chocolate. The cocoa aroma is accompanied by dark fruits, vanilla, and then more chocolate. Taste: strong bitter bite with lasting bitter finish (feels like the soot from the bottom of my french press). That delicious, rich mouth-coating bitterness lingers around nicely for quite awhile. Chocolate comes along for the ride -- great bitterness to offset the richness. Sticky, viscous texture, fully body and soft carbonation. Overall: Delicious. Wish this was in my distribution area, as it can go toe-to-toe with Old Rasputin.

12 oz bottle. Thanks Samp01 for sharing. Pours dark brown with short lived, creamy, brown head. Aroma is of bready malt, raisins, plums, cacao, vanilla and brown sugar. Body is full and creamy. Taste is burnt grain, bready malt, herbal hops, dark fruit, brown sugar and some alcohol. Finish is long and bitter. Very nice RIS.

Pours pitch black with a dark/burnt brown colored head. Very sweet smelling, lots of dark fruits like cherry and plum and dates, there’s also dark bitter coffee and cocoa notes and a bit of molasses. Taste is mostly sweet molasses and dark fruit up front, then kind of a boozy roasted malt and chocolate wave, rounded out by strong dark bitter coffee on the finish. Full mouthfeel, low carbonation. Very well balanced, sweetness is cut by the bitter coffee flavor.

Fantasktiskt välbalanserad mellan sötma, beska och fruktighet. Smak och doft av choklad, kaffe, vanilj. Krämig, len med en lätt bitterchoklad- och fruktig beska som avrundar detta mästerverk.

$2.49 for the bottle purchased yesterday from Top Shelf Brews, Hampton. To snifter it pours a deep oily mauve-tinted black with a quickly-diminishing tanned ring not even a pinky nail in length. Aromas of roasted marshmallow, graham cracker, sulfur, ash, charcoal, booze, dark chocolate, and earth. Tastes of roasted malts, candied sugar, booze, black liquorice, raisins, and American yeast. by swallow there’s nothing but bitter hops and chocolate. I like this, but I would’ve perhaps liked it more had there been less bitterness.

Pours opaque black into the glass, with a chocolate fizzy head that leaves generous soapy lacing. The nose is of deep chocolates, very nice. Flavors are slightly roasted, very malty, with various chocolates, both semi-sweet and dark baking, with a toasted cocoa finish. The mouthfeel is almost perfect, very rich, milky and smooth; a creamy palate of substance and complexity ensues. This is an extremely nice take on the common chocolate note found in many stouts; however, not nearly as rich and exquisite as this. Superb impy stout!

Dark brown. No head. No lacing. Tastes like a very bitter coffee. Very thick. Big body. Thanks miley.

12 ounce bottle- pours out tar black with a thin red-brown head and substantial lacing. Aroma is strong black coffee, malt and alcohol. Taste follows suit with an added sweetness, raisin? Palate was just incredibly thick, amazing. An awesome stout.

What a nose - all the good impy stout flavours are there. THe body is average - slightly thick, but not sticky. A roasty Impy. Cocolate, vanilla all well integrated. A good drop.
