Jet black with nice aroma, excellent earthy taste; this is the best imperial stout I’ve ever had. Just a fantastic beer!

almost perfect, preferred over kbs and the barrel aged one, however I would trade for a bells black note without any hesitation. Smooth

Very smooth, yet very flavorful! Toasty, milky flavor, with a medium body. Very earthy.

Pitch black, beautiful brown head. Wonderful aroma of chocolate (dark) roasty. Rich chocolate roast and cocoa flavor. Wonderful creamy full body.

Founders Imperial Stout kaatuu lasiin mustana, öljyisenä ja muodostaan tumman beigen vaahdon. Tuoksu on suklainen, paahtunut ja lakritsinen. Maku on lakritsinen, paahtunut, suklainen, makea ja katkera. Suussa olut tuntuu paksulta ja öljyisen liukkaalta.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Just about black. Light brown, opalescent, thin, lasting head. Stewed, black cherry. Wet leather. Hint of liquorice. Light, peaty smokiness. Hint of anise, too. Palate isn’t as chewy as you might expect. Taste is smoky dry. Some treacle sweetness. Bittersweet finish. Bob on.

Migmar (219) - Espoo, FINLAND - MAR 28, 2014
Black, with brown creamy head. Creates a curious vortex when poured in a Trappist glass. Liquorice, roasty, chocolate. Light sweetness, heavy bitterness. Full palate. Reasonably soft to avoid harshness. A great Imperial Stout, true to its style.

TET (1434) - FINLAND - MAR 28, 2014
A pitch black beer with a beautiful, almost medium, dense and beige head. The nose is nicely balanced and smooth, liquirice and roastiness, some chocolate, salt liquirice, also hint of riped fruits. Taste is liquirice and strongly roasted, some overriped fruits, at least medium sweetness that is dried by medium bitterness. Strong roastiness dominates the end, also some coffee, not totally dry end. Full bodied, very smooth and velvety to drink, enjoyable. Smooth and powerfull, strongly roasted but not dry IS.

Pours so dark, almost black. Thin head leaves thin lace. Aroma is complex barley, and complex basement. Flavor is bitter with fighting sweetness. Goes down smooth but has a funky old tasting finish. Smooth though.

Tide (1461) - Espoo, FINLAND - MAR 27, 2014
Bottle from Alko. Black color, brown head. Bitter taste with chocolate, coffee, nuts, dark fruits, earthy notes, roasted malts and licorice. Bitter finish with licorice, coffee, roasted malts and a bit of alcohol. Excellent imperial stout.
