COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fine companion to end a meal or relax in front of the hearth with, this robust ale will cellar well for years. Brewed with ten varieties of malted barley this stout is extremely smooth, complex and rich in body. We recommend serving at cellar temperature. Sit back and enjoy its richness and complexity, you’re about to drink the ultimate winter warmer.

An opaque, dark brown / black ale, beautiful and thick as it pours out of the bottle. Poured into a snifter. Thin brown head disappears quickly. Aroma of pipe tobacco, ash, mild smoke, lactose, cocoa, coffee grounds. Thick mouthfeel, smooth on the tongue. Full bodied. I taste black cherry and mild grape notes leading to bitter leafy hops. There’s ash in there with a slight hint of vanilla before dark roasted espresso and more bitter hops in the finish. Thank you Kevin for the bottle!

This is a beer worth having. The aroma is of hop, charcoal, malt, and coffee Taste: Charcoal, coffee, licorice, pine, and burnt malts The mouthfeel is thick on the palate: this is an elixir Overall, try this beer! From its motor oil pour to its soda colored head, it is irresistible!

Pours dark black with a very nice dark tan head, great lacing. Great aroma dark roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, hints of an almost bourbon like boozey. The taste is dark sweet roasted malt, coffee bitterness, more hops than i was expecting, caramel, some vanilla, a bit of smoke and a little more alcohol. Very pleasant smooth body, nice medium carbonation. Yum.

Pours pitch black with a small dark copper head. Smell is complex with lots of roasted and burnt malts, hops, and some coffee and a hint of alcohol. Taste is thick and complex. Lots of roasted malts with dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, caramel, lots of hops, and warm booze. Full bodied with a thick creamy texture. Carbonation low-flat. This is a big and complex imperial stout. It might be too big for some, but I find it utterly enjoyable.

Up there in the monstrous territory for aroma (chocolatey excess), taste (heavy, heavy sweetness with a lightly bitter finish) and palate (downright chewy). Plus who doesn’t love a beverage with three times the calories as a light beer. Another great one from Founders.

Not as good as Breakfast Stout so why bother. It’s basically that minus the outmealy part. Lots of nice coffee and chocolate.

Pours thick and dark brown. Smell is heavy with chocolate. Tastes of chocolate with subtle coffee notes. This is an amazing brew from a great brewery. Founders has yet to disappoint. Fantastic experience!

This pours like motor Oil. No discernable head. Tastes hugely of chocolate, roasted coffee beans, spicy wood, and a warming alcohol presence. Nice carbonation. This is one heavy duty stout. Delicious and straight forward, with just the right amount of complexity.
