A fine companion to end a meal or relax in front of the hearth with, this robust ale will cellar well for years. Brewed with ten varieties of malted barley this stout is extremely smooth, complex and rich in body. We recommend serving at cellar temperature. Sit back and enjoy its richness and complexity, you’re about to drink the ultimate winter warmer.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. I’m really starting to like these Imperial Stouts, and sometimes some IPAs, too. This one’s very strong coffee aroma and taste with some rich chocolate. Very enjoyable. mmm hmmm.

Bottle from Malt Attack. Black, small rusty head. Very thick oily texture visible on pouring already. Aroma coffee, tropical earth after rain. Taste super strong espresso, sweet coffee-and-chocolate finish. Complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2009 bottle. Aroma rich roasted malts. Smell of black malts crushing and mashing in. Embraces the roasted character. Clear pitch colour, oily texture. Taste is also all-malt, lots of roasted flavpurs, lightly tart, but no astringency. Coffeeish roasted finish. Very good one.

Color is black with a small creamy looking brown head. Nose is some light tones of chocolate with tones of roasted malt and sweet plummylike aromas. Taste is like the senses of Nose, sweet malt and liquorice with only light tones of alcohol pushing through. Very well balanced and great creamy mouthfeel.
