3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle served in a shaker- poured a blacker than midnight in a summertime thunderstorm when you canít see your hand in front of your face color, 2mm darkened tan head formed and laced very well upon the vessel. Aroma of dark chocolate, molasses, black licorice, and home. Hits the mouth with a wide yet medium body, malt was roasted to the point of being burnt but could have stayed in there 3 days longer just to make sure, middle has a sweet and velvety chocolate sensation, finish is not oily but slightly crisp. A stout that drinks like a lager- boo!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance: inky, viscous, syrupy pour; near black; short, purplish cream head that vanishes quickly. Aroma: molasses, dark chocolate, black coffee, some toffee, treacle, prunes, and a hint of black licorice. Taste: as the aroma indicates. Finish: smooth and rich, with lasting bittersweet chocolate and just a whisper of licorice. Notes: Canít believe the palate on this thing. Itís huge and rich, but never feels boozy. Itís jam packed full of flavor. One of the better imperial stouts Iíve had. Bottle from Total Wine & More, McLean, Virginia.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
This is a heavy beer. I donít even feel right calling it a proper beer really. Itís like some sort of black beer-ooze from a some hellionís brew.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bottle from Wine Emporium 270215. This is as good as beer gets. Pours thick and syrupy in the glass, an impenetrable black with a swirling mass of light chocolate foam. Not a beer that you can, or want to, drink quickly.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours like black motor oil and leave a smallish cocoa brown head that settles to a rim and light coating and then nada. A bit of lacing. Aroma is more prominent after the pour and has notes of coffee, baking chocolate. Very smooth and rich on the palate with depth of flavor on the back end. Initial flavors are a bit abrupt and tangy. Loads of roasted malty goodness - coffee, chocolate, some darkfruit. Slightly bitter roast aftertaste. Very fine, but not quite to the level of, say, Ten Fidy.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a well made beer. No over the top ingredients or bells and whistles. Just a well executed Imperial. A smooth medium body stout with roasted sweet malts up front and a slightly bitter long finish. Very nicely balanced and extremely enjoyable.

4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bottled date says 12/2/2014. Tasted 2/24/2014. Poured from 12oz bottle into tulip. Appearance is dark black with one finger tan head, which dissipated rather quickly leaving some nice lacing. A strong roasted, malty, almost earthy aroma. Taste is rich with roasted heavy malts. Light carbonation and a little thick stickiness leaves a smooth pleasant mouth feel.
Take your time sipping and savoring this one on a cold winter night or damp rainy day.
If you like roasted malty goodness this beer is for you.
Tasty beer. Superb representation of an Imperial Stout.
I look forward to tasting the barrel aged version of this brew.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Different without being contrarian. Great imperial stout flavor without the usual strong overtones of coffee, chocolate, prunes, etc
