A fine companion to end a meal or relax in front of the hearth with, this robust ale will cellar well for years. Brewed with ten varieties of malted barley this stout is extremely smooth, complex and rich in body. We recommend serving at cellar temperature. Sit back and enjoy its richness and complexity, you’re about to drink the ultimate winter warmer.

Pours jet black with a thinner head that is dark brown. Aroma is chocolate and coffee to a slightly lesser extant, along with some licorice and a bit of smokiness. There is a good amount of chocolate in the taste. The licorice really comes out more as a main flavor. This one is a bit sweet, but not to much. It helps mask the flavor of alcohol that is noticed in here as well. Full in body with a thick texture. Flat carbonation. This is a very good stout.

12fl oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Opaque with a small brown cap. Aroma is raisins and alcohol. Flavor is strong roasted malt, dark fruits, alcohol burn. This beer is thick enough to chew. Long lasting, deeply bitter finish. Leaves your mouth sticky. This is a slow drinker. Excellent dessert beer that would be perfect on a cold winter night. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.355 bottle.
A tar black color with a small, truly brown head of poor retention. Aroma of spices, dark malts, licorice, and quite a bit of cognac. Taste of dark malts, cognac, wood, some roast, and a bit of molasses - bittersweet. A full body, a creamy texture if there ever was one, and a flat carbonation. Finish is long and introduces vanilla into the mix. Overall the beer is splendid; the finish does get a bit tart, but the whole experience is marvelous nonetheless.

Bottle at pub. Pours oily black with small copper head. Aroma has strong coffee and licorice with hints of cinnamon and herbs. Taste has coffee, smoke, sour and cocoa. Dry roasted coffee in the end with long finish. Quite carbonated. Top notch imperial stout.
