UPDATED: APR 22, 2015 A: Huge chocolate, coffee, and alcohol sweetness. Big tobacco note. A: Hands down the best looking beer I’ve ever seen. Pitch black with an epic brown and creamy head. T: Massive! As with the smell, huge chocolate note. A great coffee note as well that comes with some solid bitterness. Alcohol compliments the finish. Nice tobacco note. P: Carbonation is prime with a nice smooth mouthfeel. Goes down easy peasy. Overall this is a near perfect brew. Huge flavors complement each other well and are not overpowered by each other. A must try. Gahhh!!!!! I so want this to be my next perfect score but every time I come back and smell there is something off! This is the beer I absolutely look forward too. -From the 2015 version.

355ml bottle. Pours black with a beautiful creamy brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, dark fruits, berries, ground coffee, soy sauce. Taste is very rich: roastiness, coffee, chocolate, some vanilla, light smoke, plums, berries, some booze. Smooth oily mouthfeel, full body, light carbonation. Excellent.

Ottima Imperial Stout.

This is how an imperial stout should be... Thick, black, heavy... Coffee, burnt sugar, treacle, black chocolate. Warming and boozy. No fancy gimmicks, just a top class imperial Stout.

Negro opaco con espuma beis. Aromas de cacao, frutos negros, licor. Cuerpo medio-alto, textura sedosa. Inicio dulce de fruta negra, melaza que acaba en un amargor achocolatado, licoroso y tostado intenso que equilibra bien.

Bottle, 0.355l. Pours pitch black color with thin totally diminishing light brown head and no lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, alcohol and candy sugar. Taste starts sweet rich and smooth malty with strong coffee note, follows by dried fruits’ acidity and whiskey note, mouthfeel is warming, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Warm surprise for warm spring afternoon...

Bottle from archer road beer stop, sheffield. Black with a tan head. Aroma of liquorice and treacle. Taste is rich and bitter with treacly sweetness. Thick as they come, like crude oil, lovely. Good good double good.

I find this one hard to rate. I’ve had it a few times and my opinion fluctuates wildly. Tonight I love it. Balanced flavours of vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts, slight bitterness, cocoa, coffee. Quality beer.

12oz bottle purchased at the beer cabin in plattsburgh. Aroma has some mineral and roast. Light anise. Opaque black body with a medium brown head. Starts with some burnt, ashed, malt flavor. Strong anise. Quite bitter. Way too much anise and bitterness in this to be enjoyable.
