A fine companion to end a meal or relax in front of the hearth with, this robust ale will cellar well for years. Brewed with ten varieties of malted barley this stout is extremely smooth, complex and rich in body. We recommend serving at cellar temperature. Sit back and enjoy its richness and complexity, you’re about to drink the ultimate winter warmer.

12 oz motor oil black pour with a wonderful light brownish head. Burnt malts and coffee dominate the nose. Taste is full of coffee and chocolate. Palate is long and thick and perfect. Wow. This thing is ridiculous. Im trying to sip it and take it slow but I cant. With a very well hidden 10.5% I might be in trouble soon. This is the best imperial stout Ive had. So smooth, so rich, so perfect.

Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate. Appearance dark black, dark brown head. Taste is great, thick coffee, very fresh. Mouthfeel is perfect, soft carbonation. Overall, I’m very happy I finally get to taste this. Amazing.

The beer pours an opaque black with a very small brown head, and the aroma is of toasted malts, dough, and basement aromas. Once sipped, it is quite bitter but still hearty and slightly sweet. The heaviness of this beer coats the tongue nicely, and there is a lasting bitter finish that leaves you wanting more.

Smooth, creamy, and sweet. Sweet aroma. Black color with fat head. Roasty and chocolatey.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2015 Poured the beer, thick like molasses and oh so dark black in color, into a snifter around 55-60 degrees. Everything quickly got better as the beer approached room temperature. Beautiful mocha colored 1/2inch thick head that did quickly retreat with some lacing. Aroma was quick alluring with hints of chocolate, toffee, maybe roast, and some hints of vanilla. Taste was to die for; coffee, fudge, bittersweet chocolate, and fruits. Thick and smooth with a velvet creamy mouthfeel on the palate. Founders, again, has impressed me with one of their brews. Truly one of the best imperial stouts out there in my opinion. Highly recommend this one!

almost perfect, preferred over kbs and the barrel aged one, however I would trade for a bells black note without any hesitation. Smooth

Överlägset bästa IS jag smakat. Rostad härlighet, fyllig som få. Tjock som motorolja med en härlig eftersmak av malt, malt och lite mer malt. En liten hint av bitterhet för att hindra malten att ta över. Underbar.

Bottle 35,5cl. First of all I didn’t think it was beer pouring out of the bottle, but oil or something else. Deep black with a dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, tar and coffee. Extreme intense flavour of concentrated coffee (espresso), dark chocolate and a very long finish with a perfect bitterness to round of a fantastic beer. Absolute recommendable. A truly fantastic beer.

Bottle from timderoeck. Many thanks! Oily syrupy texture. Pitch black colour, dark brown creamy foam. Soft carbonation. Very complex aroma of roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate, also dark fruit and berries. Perfect in balance: sweet and malty and also bitter and roasty. This is a fantastic imperial stout!
