Bottle as "Better Half" thanks to ktown67. Pours with a clear bronze body with minimal head and some particles. Aromas are of honey, molasses, maple and bourbon. Syrupy, sweet, caramel and boozy. Flavors are of cereal, malty, maple, molasses, bourbon, toasted coconut, vanillin, and alcohol. Quite warming, medium bubbles, syrupy, good.

Tap (shaker pint) at OB Noodle House. Clear brownish auburn with a one finger creamy off-white head, great retention. Bourbon and oak up front in the nose, some sweet maple and toasty malts follow. Flavor continues with the sweet bourbon--I get more maple than molasses-with some added toasty malts and sweet raisin notes. Dry finish, bitterness at a 3, alcohol masked well--11.9%?!? I’d guess it at 8%. Full body with mod carbonation. Not overly complex, but tasty. Pleasantly surprised this was on--apparently the Nood has ordered 21 kegs from Founders, including the KBS!

Bottle @ home. JetsonFest II. Fairly clear, dark reddish appearance with a cream head. Rich caramel, a bit herbal, maple, dull hoppy aroma. Rich maple, thick toffee, somewhat herbal hoppy, molasses, caramel flavor. Sure it’s fun to try bu there’s nothing special about this mofo.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks to Aaron for the pour! Dark brownish red with, thin white head, aroma has notes of maple, dark chocolate, hints of vanilla, dark fruits with a hint of maple and slight toffee. Taste is a mix of maple, dark fruit, some slight hint of roast, touch of biscuit, bread, finishing fairly sweet.

Tap at Glass Nickel for Madison’s Craft Beer Week. Pours mahogany with dark purple/garnet highlights. Thin tan head. Not much lacing to speak of, but nice alcohol legs on the glass. Huge vanilla/bourbon notes on the nose, plum candy and booze. Sweet, maple goodness follows on the tongue, with more bourbon and vanilla bean. Mild hop astringency. A little hot, and I get the hesitation to embrace this beer, but man did I enjoy it.

Had as ’Better Half’ .. . Pours a deep gold amber .. white foam, low strength lacing .. . lots of sweet honey wine, maple syrup and golden booze .. . wow, so out of whack, very boozy .. this needs at least 3-5 years to be great and i think it has the potential .. . . PMS jokes aren’t funny, period.
