Bottle from trade via unknown. Pours very dark, little to no tan head. Aroma Bourbon, peanuts/almonds, chocolate, roasty. Body huge, nutty, roasty/charred oak. Finish surprisingly subtle, really nice.

29/IX/13 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle @ American BBQ and beertasting, my place - BB: n/a - bottled: II/2012 (2013-914) Very big thanks to Jeremy for the bottle!
Clear dark brown to black beer, aery to creamy beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of chloride, caramel, sugary, some tobacco. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: caramel, sugary, spicy, dried fruits, jam, sour red berries, mocha, some coffee. Aftertaste: caramel, mocha, bit sugary, some dried fruits, dark chocolate, liquorish, pretty hoppy and dry ending. Nice beer, but I was expecting more of this one...

Bottle. Black as oil with a laced brown head. The aroma is filled with molasses, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malts. The oak bourbon barrel aging blends perfectly into the smooth, rich, velvety palate and flavors.

What else needs to be said? Big, boozy and beautiful. I appreciate Founders attention to detail. Not overpowering but enough kick to know the bourbon is there. Worth the wait in tracking this down. Canít wait to find some for the cellar.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is stout heaven - strong dark chocolate, espresso, and bourbon on those nose. All three qualities come through in the mouthfeel and body, yet itís surprisingly thin, which is disappointing, especially for such a sought-after beer like this. Nevertheless, it finishes with a lot of heat and is bodacious.
