COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

Room temp into a wine glass. Smells of coffee and bourbon, maybe chocolate? Looks perfect, jet black with no light even on the very edge, dark tan head. Same taste as aroma, only knock I can find is the burn is a bit strong. Thick and lush mouthfeel, would give 4.5 if I could, almost ideal.

Thanks to Dave for sharing this rare find with me.Appearance: dark black, medium off white head, impressive lacing as it fades.Aroma is chocolate and whiskey, nicely blended.Taste is coffee first, whiskey later. Smooth and sweet. As close to perfect as I can imagine at this point in my cabeer (beer career.)Feel is smooth, not as lively as some.A gem of a brew.Tasting side by side with the regular Founders Breakfast Stout and it is superior, which says a lot.

This is a big, boozy, slap you in the face stout. The breakfast stouts more in my wheelhouse but this is an experience. Big bourbon, coffee, light chocolate.

12 oz into tulip. Black, very thin and short lasting tan head. Minimal lacing. Aromas of bourbon and chocolate shortly after pour fade to bourbon and malts. Taste is of roasted malts and is lightly bitter with strong notes of oak and nice notes of bourbon. Fairly sharp taste, far feom smooth.some hints of coffee and possibly a little dark chocolate. Light carbonarion. Sorta oily texture. Woody finish. This bottle was from a fresh 2015 batch, maybe a few fonths of cellaring would consition and mellow flavors out. Overall verry good barrel aged stout. Was excited to get my hands on a four pack. Do believe it is a bit oveehyped. $25 for a four pack is a bit steep but I would proably still buy again if given the opportunity. But I also believe plentt of otjer great barrel aged stouts are available till then. May let my other two bottle condition before tasting again.

Bottle. Deep brown with minimal head. Woody bourbon, molasses, charred wood, coffee and alcohol. Flavor is dryly sweet. Body is heavier with a smooth feel.
