COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

0,335L bottle. It is opened to farewell a good colleague and friend that will be missed by us. Appearance: Pours a pitch black colour with thin to medium tan head. Leaves some good lacing. Aroma: Intense aroma of roasted malt, coffee beans, dark chocolate, nut, vanilla. Also have some resin, wood and oak and light alcohol in the nose. Taste: Medium to heavy roasted malt and coffee beans bitterness. Balanced with medium creamy vanilla sweetness. Some bourbon taste as well. Palate: Medium to full body. Very creamy and smooth texture. Long-lasting roasted malt and coffee bitterness. Just a little bit too alcoholic at the end. Overall: A really solid imperial stout. That wonderful bittersweet aftertaste of roasted malt, coffee beans, bourbon and vanilla linger at your mouth really long. It may even taste better if cellared and aged it.

Pours dark, lacey tan head. Velvety chocolate, vanilla, oak and coffee on the nose and palate. One of the best beers in the world.

35.5cl bottle. v2016. Deep black colour with a nice beige head than persists as a lacing. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, bourbon and light alcohol in the aroma. Average carbonation and full body. Taste is complex bittersweet with the same notes as the aroma. A bit too alcohol and for that I would say it should be aged a little. Overall, a very good beer.

Nice and we’ll rounded head, but a bit lackluster in volume. A color nearing complete black. Great taste, a noticeable coffee taste while keeping the beer fairly light.

Bottle from Greenslopes Cellars 310716. My first beer rated on RateBeer was a stout so I thought it only fitting that beer 5000 should also be a stout. And what better stout to drink than this one. There is not much that I can say about this beer that hasn’t already been said. It looks great, smells, great and tastes great. Smooth and velvety in the mouth with a burnt aftertaste that is long and a touch dry.

Oh so many flavors going on here. Very subtle wood chip nose; lacey tan head; medium carbonation; subtle bitter coffee / chocolate taste with a touch of bourbon on the front pallet with a lingering finish of bitter roasted malt. The hop amount helps hide the alc. content.
