COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

Pours a thick silky black color with a half finger of mocha foam that rings out and sticks nicely. On the nose there is a big dose of spent coffee grounds, dark chocolate, sweet vanilla and bourbon notes mixed with just a touch of earthy dark fruit. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with s slight touch of heat on the late palate. Smooth chocolate and sweet caramel notes mingle with dark coffee bitterness and rich bourbon and vanilla. The oak complements the flavors wonderfully and the balanced finish keeps flowing with lingering chocolate bourbon notes.... YUM.

So smooth. Velbalansert til siste finish. Blir bare bedre og bedre ettersom temperaturen stiger. En minneverdig stout i verdensklasse. Takk til Gunnar for kveldens beste!

Given as a birthday present. This is a very good and rare beer. It’s like great lakes blackout stout bourbon barrel aged, but maybe more chocolate.

Bottle kindly shared by gunnar. Black body with a veil. Black with Coffee and vanilla dominates the nose at first, then the bourbon comes sneaking; and raisins. Thick, oily and alco warm. Coffee, vanilla, wooden notes and roasted malts.

Shared 355 ml bottle at local tasting. Pitch black colour, no head. Strong and intense aroma of bourbon / oak / vanilla, nearly hiding the roasty, chocolate and coffee notes in the background. Low carbonation. Sweet and rich flavour, notes of bourbon, vanilla, oak, chocolate and coffee.

bottle, from trade (2009) with ross, another in the "i haven’t rated this yet" series. real good aroma, sweet, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, blackish brown color, small head little to no lace. sweet flavor. heavy body. kind od a still creamy mouthfeel, sweet finish. I’ve had this a bunch of times, this one is at a nice point, still get the barrel, but not hot like younger versions

Had only a small sample at a beer show but it had wonderful coffee aroma and a smooth palate. I'd love to get a bottle to sit and ponder with sometime. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
