Bottled. A pitch black beer with no head. The aroma is sweet alcoholic combined with notes of malt and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet mlaty with notes of caramel, alcohol, and chocolate, leading to a dry end, where a note of cocoa beans lingers. The alcohol burns slightly in the mouth.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 yespr (26042) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JAN 19, 2008
12 fl oz, trade with ygtbsm94 . Pours dark almost black with a dense and nice chocolate coloured head. Aroma is smooth chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and a smooth bourbon note into the finish. Fantastic balance and only with a smooth bourbon note into the finish. I think most bourban barrel aged beers are way to dominated by the bourbon notes, not this one.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 17, 2007
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours completely black and opaque with a light brown head - almost tar-like. Very burned aroma - ashtrayish. The body surprisingly only appears medium, with roasted, burned malt accents and some bourbon. A dry, bitter finish. Not bad, but there’s simply many much better barrel aged impys out there. 3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 omhper (17472) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 17, 2008
Bottled, thanks Marsblursi! Black as a November night in hell. Pale brown head. Strong coffee aroma. Sweet and a bit syrupy. There are lots of coffee - vanilla and oak is there to a lesser extent. The mouthfeel is clean and the sweetness quite severe, which limits my enjoyment. The bourbon is balanced, but I find the the malt structure not really to be up to the very high rating.

Medium to low carbonation. Smooth, filling, oily, thick. Very light & harmless warmth from alcohol. Really incredible & the best beer Ive had in a long time!

(Bottle) Pours an oily opaque black body with virtually no head. Powerful aroma of bourbon, oak, and dark chocolate. Flavor of bitter coffee, roasted malt, oak, and bourbon.
Way too over the top! If you enjoy sucking on bourbon soaked wood chips with your Cuban coffee...you may enjoy. Maybe I was too concerned I would get a splinter on my tongue.... Not sure how any one could finish a bottle on their own.
