COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2013 Pours black with ruby highlights, a finger of dark khaki head that dissipates to an attractive foam with nice lacing. The bourbon comes through in the aroma and so does the oak from the barrels. Also some sweet chocolate and only a faint hint of coffee. The taste is at first sweet with cocoa and a nice vanilla, then the bourbon flavor appears along with a pleasant touch of alcohol warmth. You then get a chocolate covered coffee bean flavor and only a touch of bitterness. Finishes with more chocolate and a bit of oak woodiness. Mouthfeel is creamy and somewhat sticky with a medium/full body. Carbonation is medium with small bubbles. Alcohol legs appear in lacing. Exceptionally well integrated flavors that compliment each other and never overpower one another. A sipper that is highly enjoyable. ---Jeremy H

4/18/14 bought for $7.99 @ CBO. Was last to grab a ticket. Drank as a celebration after getting the job as manager. I liked it but fell well below BCBS ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big vanilla, bourbon, and bacon. Smoky bourbon and vanilla on the first sip. Nice tan brown caramel head, and chocolate liquid gold. Outstanding

Immediate aroma of cocoa. Thin tan head on a dark brown deep pour. An immediate cocoa ( not chocolate) and coffee taste. Perfect taste. , not overpowering. Note: the foam turned a dark tan as I drank it. Worth the hype. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Draft at the Capitol-Bloomsburg. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Big roasted malt notes on the nose with a hint of bourbon. The bourbon notes are subtle on the tongue but they expand on the maltiness as the beer warms. A bit of lactic on the finish but it’s also remarkably smooth and hides it alcohol well. A damn good beer.

Pour - black. No head. Aroma - slight caramel. Mouth - lightly oily. Low carb. Taste - nothing up front but after swallow. Slightly hoppy on the finish then a rush if coffee and slight bourbon. Overall - excellent. Bourbon comes through the longer you drink. Coffee at the start. Not for sessions.

This is my all time favorite! Very hard to find. Nice bourbon smell on the nose and a smooth bourbon vanilla taste!

Love having a Friday off, so I’m celebrating with KBS. Just a fantastic coffee aroma on the nose, nice and dark appearance. Smooth mouth feel, coffee, cocoa, and a little roasty malt on the palate. Toffee on the finish. Overall, a great beer.

Pours an inky black with a thick brown head. Aromas of coconut, coffee and malts. Cask aging is up front and powerful with notes of coconut and coffee in the middle with a malty after taste. Excellent beer, worth the cost and then some.

Just as good as the goose island coffee bourbon aged stout. I love the founders breakfast stout and this is almost heaven. It is worth the hunt.

Opaque coffee color. Viscous pour. Sensuous nose - vanilla, whiskey roast, sweet. Whiskey and chocolate, sweet like a Jack Daniels mudslide. Warming. Mouthy, quality oily body. Not hugely bitter. A bit tarry at the end. Sweet roast finish. Reminds me of some familiar chocolate/toffee/caramel candy from childhood. Tap, Proof.
