COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

Opaque coffee color. Viscous pour. Sensuous nose - vanilla, whiskey roast, sweet. Whiskey and chocolate, sweet like a Jack Daniels mudslide. Warming. Mouthy, quality oily body. Not hugely bitter. A bit tarry at the end. Sweet roast finish. Reminds me of some familiar chocolate/toffee/caramel candy from childhood. Tap, Proof.

Draft into a 5 oz tasting glass. Deep dark color with an intentionally poured small tan head. Very smooth and subtle build of bourbon flavor with a nice lingering taste left of the palate. Finally got to try it and it lives up to the fame! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is 2nd only to Goose a Island Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout. Regular BCBS feel behind because I love coffee in my stout

Poured at home from a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark black with a thin tan head. Smell is of coffee and cocoa with a little sweet vanilla. Taste is cocoa, with coffee and vanilla. Thereís that little burn in the back of your throat from the bourbon at the end. Medium body. Overall, an awesome beer with a lot going on...Definitely recommend!

Bottle, for my 1000th rating. Pours motor-oil brown/black with a high, mixed-grain, tan head. Nose is good bourbon, coffee, vanilla, and a touch of soy -- really amazing; the bourbon comes right through. On the tongue, heavy and dark; not as sweet as I expected, with the best encapsulation of bourbon Iíve ever tasted in a beer along with coffee, vanilla, and a touch of savory. The palate is oily smooth with a long, satisfying, heated richness. Worth the hype.

Pours black with a tan head into a snifter. Aroma is of bourbon, chocolate, and coffee. Unlike most BA stouts, the bourbon isnít in the forefront, but mixed in and balanced nicely with the other ingredients. Taste follows the aroma, a nice balance of all three of the main characteristics. Bourbon and vanilla, chocolate, with some coffee. Strong bourbon aftertaste along with the coffee. Absolutely fantastic. A little boozy at the end, but age should take this out. Thick and oily on the palate, exactly how I like my stouts. An exceptional twist on the BA stout style, and unlike most of the others, this one doesnít let the bourbon overshadow the chocolate and coffee. Itís perfectly balanced, perfectly drinkable. Age could mellow out the boozy bite at the end, but this is a damn near perfect beer.
