COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

Absolutely phenomenal. Luscious jet black color with a deep, dirty caramel head. Tastes thick and creamy with just the perfect level of sweetness and alcohol to compliment the bourbon tones. A lot of barrrel aged beers promise an oaky flavor but very few deliver on the promise, this really does have an incredibly subtle yet prominent bourbon barrel aftertaste, and the coffee/vanilla mix on the tongue isn’t just well balanced, it fuses to create a remarkably perfect stout. Never pass up the chance to give this a try.

Sampled 2012 and 2013. Preference towards 2013 though to my undertrained pallete the only perceivable difference is a better balance in vanilla notes of 2013 (less overpowering and more balanced). Amazingly complex. Something to savor and think on. I am not generally a fan of the stout style but just because she is not my type doesn’t mean I won’t.

Draught sample at CBWF 2016. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Sweet, roasted aroma with dark malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel malts, whisky barrel and vanilla. Taste is sweet. Full body with an oily texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and roasted bitter with lingering dark malts and whisky barrel. Excellent Stout.

McWorta (1467) - LUXEMBOURG - AUG 27, 2016
Dark brown-black with a chocolatey head, good lacings. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, chococlate, bourbon vanilla, wet wood and some earthy tones develop with a very faint herbal impression. Faintly carbonated, velvety-smooth and medium-full bodied. Chocolate sweetness with bourbon vanilla action and a pinch of roasted coffee flavours rounds this beer very well off in a lasting joyful finish.

Bottle from 1776 Liquors in Bristol. $10 for just one 12 ounce bottle. Sounds crazy but I had to pull the trigger. Well worth it. Not an everyday occurrence. Save this for special occasions. Poured into a snifter. Huge tan head. The lacing is incredible. I see chariots and tigers! Super smooth velvety texture. Strong bourbon sweetness. Deep chocolate and coffee notes. So delicious. Lots and lots of layers. Some oak and vanilla. This is simply fantastic. Better sit down for this one!
