COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

On tap at Bishops Arms Folkungagatan Stockholm Sweden. Pours black with a medium frothy tan head. Swirling it around leaves some nice lacings on the inside of the glass, yet it’s not all that thick. Aromas of chocolate, bourbon, coffee, molasses, honey and vanilla.Taste is chocolate, bourbon, coffee ,molasses vanilla, roasted malts and vanilla. Mouthfeel is smooth with low carbonation. My experience with bourbon barrel-aged stouts so far has been a massive up-in-your-face nose and taste with several of them bludgeoning your senses. Mind you, in a good way. This is insidious creeping its way in and insanely well balanced. Fantastic stuff and worth they hype!

12 oz bottle courtesy of Chris, served in a stem glass next to the base. Pours black with a small tan head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has huge bourbon notes, along with molasses, vanilla, cocoa and oak. The flavour is moderately sweet with vanilla, bourbon and molasses, along with oak, toffee and a hint of cocoa. The finish is long with bourbon and vanilla, along with molasses. On the palate it is medium-full in body with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, wow, an amazing bourbon-barrel aged brew with elegant bourbon notes. Wow, awesome. 2014-09-28

Was disappointed with it for 2014. Seems to be a theme from what I’ve heard. Look forward to next year for maybe a better showing. On tap at founders launch

Super interesting aromas of chocolate covered cherries, cocoa, vanilla, sweetness, chocolate dessert. Very smooth. Vanilla, almond, honey, subtle coffee, chocolate, cherries flavors.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours black with a tan head. Taste roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, booze. I didn't like this, to much coffee flavor (I don't like coffee). I would not drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Full bodied, slick, warming, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, well integrated whiskey, understandably high rated but a bit OTT for me. A small measure is plenty

Bottle shared @ Beer Temple (small sample), thanks Chris Knight. Black color. Beige head with little lacing. Aroma’s of ground coffee, roasted malts, light fruit. Additionally some caramel retronasal. Flavor is moderate bitter, roasted, with a light sweetness. Medium bodied. Finishes with heavy roast, coffee, moderate to full bitter. Nice!

Uh yeah! From my first trade, thanks to PreisMJ! Have been looking forward to this. Bottle. Pours pitch black with a small, beautiful brown head. Aroma has milk chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, caramel, coconut, soft licorice and coffee. Taste has a crispy, dark roast, up front, as well as a little booze, followed by looots of dark, sweet fruity chocolate notes, vanilla, dates, figs, dried plums, raisins, dried coconut. Ends off with a nice and strong alcohol heat. Very smooth and balanced beer, that i could drink lots of. Full body and low carbonation.

12oz bottle. Black, with great tan head. Heady chocolate sauce and mocha coffee on the nose; sweet twist of bourbon and oakiness in there, light touch of roasted malt adds depth. Great nose. Taste is big on the coffee and darker choc - bitter choc. Some deep figgy stuff happening, big roasted malt hit. Velvety chocolate comes in, followed by a sweet touch of bourbon. Big full mouthfeel. No booze hint at all, very well integrated. Lingering bourbon and coffee, with a slight burnt smokiness on the tongue. Yeah, first class gear.
