A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

Poured at home from a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark black with a thin tan head. Smell is of coffee and cocoa with a little sweet vanilla. Taste is cocoa, with coffee and vanilla. There’s that little burn in the back of your throat from the bourbon at the end. Medium body. Overall, an awesome beer with a lot going on...Definitely recommend!

12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Pours black, with a small tan head that rapidly fades. Nose is coffee and dark roast malt. Taste is dark roast malt, espresso coffee, and bourbon on the finish. Very, very good. One of the best American beers I have had. Outstanding.

Bottle, 2015 release. Pours thick black with a medium sized creamy light brown head. Earthy coffee, chocolate and light bourbon in the nose. Smells great. Flavour has lots of bourbon; vanilla, coconut and white chocolate, cocoa, oak, warming alcohol, salty liquorice, rum soaked raisins. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, heavy sweet with balanced bitterness. Long finish with lingering bourbon. Good stuff, but also punchy, would like to try an older edition to see if it settles down.

Bottle enjoyed at Cafe Sara
Pours dark, black in glass with a big brown head. Smell of dark dark malts, roast coffee, vanilla cocoa and hints of oak. Heavy heavy sweet, dark malts, chocolate, vanilla, a touch of bourbon and oak. Moderate bitter finish, coffee tail. A bit too sweet for my taste. The flavors are good balanced off.

(Bottle, 0.355 l - 2015 vintage - bottled on 02/12/2015, at Viisi Penniä, 20150502) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had vanilla, chocolate, coffee, cocoa and burnt malts. Palate was full bodied and dryish with medium carbonation. Flavours were vanilla, dark chocolate, sweetness, cocoa, coffee, wood and bitterness. Aftertaste had wood, vanilla, burnt malts and bitterness. Not really my kind of brew: too heavy vanilla, too much booze and too sweet. Still not bad though.

Possibly the nicest beer I’ve ever drank. It is dark, rich, has a strong bourbon taste and an aftertaste like an Irish coffee.

Dark black with tan lacing. Aroma is bourbon. Taste is coffee followed by the bourbon back. If you’re not a fan of bourbon probably not your beer.

Are you kidding me. I wanted this to be overrated for some reason, but it was so damn good. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla. Very smooth, SO much depth. I wanted another one immediately after finishing the first. Excellent, excellent, excellent

Bottle from Brandons liquor Peachtree City $6.99 - 1 bottle limit. Taste of real, delicious bitter/sweet chocolate, coffee, vanilla with a hint of bourbon. As it warmes I get more bourbon. Now I see what all the hype is ! Fuckin amazing.
