COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

#100. Been saving these for the right time, might as well do it at 100. 09 bottle and will do the 08 in a couple days. Pours a pitch thick black with very thin brown creamy head. Aroma is as advertised, tons of coffee, chocolate, and bourbon, hints of vanilla, wood, and smokiness. Flavor at first had me worried, it was quite strong and almost overbearing. Next sips eased that worry and it became very delicious. Everything in the aroma came out in the taste, with the addition of dried fruits, bitter sweetness, roasted malt, with a bit of a sour/earthy finish. Definitely the most complex beer I have tried to date.

Pours a dark black. Has a strong malt, liquorish, and heavy dark alcohol aroma. Taste is very strong and unique with some coffee, vanilla, dark alcohol (from the bourbon barrels), oak, and some malts. A smooth aftertaste as if it were a fine bourbon. Nothing bitter or overwhelming about this beer!

Smells like chocolate syrup, vanilla, and a hint of toasty oak. Appears opaque dark brown with caramel foam, minimal lace. Taste is of chocolate up front followed by some bitter cocoa coffee and oak, with a touch of bourbon sweetness and minor alcohol burn. Palate is a bit syrupy. Overall, good, probably best in small doses; the flavor is a bit overwhelming.

Tap (niiice). Pitch black. Minimal head and lacing. Incredibly creamy. Nose predominantly bourbon. Tastes like drink chocolate, with an edge of bourbon to balance any sweetness. Slightly boozey. Lives up to the height.

Very happy I was able to try this one. On tap. A: chocolate, coffee, alcohol. Ap: dark brown with a small tan head. T: bitter with the Bourbon coming through at the end. P: sticky with a pronounced Bourbon taste and just lingers. O: delicious and a top 5 beer for me.

Amazing !!!! So good so very very good! The nose is remarkable oak an dark sweetness with an obvious high ABV nose tickle. The taste is so well balanced with a sweet yet bitterness at 70 IBUs loving the silky mouth feel with coffee an bourbon back end. WELL DONE Founders

Great beer when you can find it. Vanilla and coffee tastes mix so well here.

Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head that lasts forever. Aroma is chocolate, nut, and oak bourbon. Taste is heavily bourbon, a nice dose of sweet chocolate, and some coffee that comes out stronger as the beer warms up. Has a full body feel and goes down smooth. This is a delicious beer that lives up to the hype, even if the bourbon is a tad overpowering.

4/18/14 bought for $7.99 @ CBO. Was last to grab a ticket. Drank as a celebration after getting the job as manager. I liked it but fell well below BCBS ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big vanilla, bourbon, and bacon. Smoky bourbon and vanilla on the first sip. Nice tan brown caramel head, and chocolate liquid gold. Outstanding

Immediate aroma of cocoa. Thin tan head on a dark brown deep pour. An immediate cocoa ( not chocolate) and coffee taste. Perfect taste. , not overpowering. Note: the foam turned a dark tan as I drank it. Worth the hype. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
