(Bottle, Thanks Ughsmash) Pours black. Roasted, deep aroma of dark chocolate, dry cocoa, dark malt and coffee. Also a lot of oak wood up front with tones of vanilla and bourbon whisky. Medium roasted, light burned flavour with tones of bitter cocoa, salty liquorice, warming alcohol and some coffee. Well notable oak features in the flavour as well. A bit peppery and fiery. Oily, smooth almost a bit numbing mouthfeel with a medium to full body. Light to medium bitter with a tiny sweetness. Dark malt and oak in the lingering aftertaste. Truly world class. Second try: Pours black with a small dark brown head. The aroma is heavily coffee roasted with toned of green peeper and jalapenos. Just a whisper of vanilla-like oak and cocoa chocolate hints. Dry roasted. The flavour is of aromatic, dry coffee, bit sugary and vanilla-ish oak. Light dark fruity and blackberry. The mouthfeel is oily and round. Near full bodied.

Pours oily thick with very little caramel head. Good lacing.
Aroma is first bourbon, coffee.
Flavor is bourbon, coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, a little hot. A little bitter.
Mouthfeel is thinner than expected. Mild carbonation. Doesnt coat the mouth as much yet it sits on your tongue for a while and drives home the strong bourbon and coffee flavors and ends bitter.

Nov 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep black with a small tan head that fades to a ring. Rich aroma, of sweet burnt toasted malt, wood, bourbon, dark fruits, and coffee. Huge taste, of burnt, toasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, caramel, vanilla, and ends with bourbon and wood flavors. Lingering wood, coffee and malt richness. Incredibly rich and amazing taste.

The bourbon gives the coffee nose a nutty quality, some wood. Flavor has more wood and bourbon, and the roast is largely more of a factor. A little milk chocolate as well. The mouth rather thin. Overall good, the barrel mellows some of the vegetal bite of the normal breakfast, but it’s still not very complex.

Nov 17, 2008 <i>Bottled, thanks Marsblursi!</i> Black as a November night in hell. Pale brown head. Strong coffee aroma. Sweet and a bit syrupy. There are lots of coffee - vanilla and oak is there to a lesser extent. The mouthfeel is clean and the sweetness quite severe, which limits my enjoyment. The bourbon is balanced, but I find the the malt structure not really to be up to the very high rating.

Nov 2, 2008 Crushed with TheDude. I’ve been looking forward to him bringing me this one. Nice, motor oil pour. Jet black, with no head, just a ring around the glass that clings and laces. Aroma is coffee, then some chocolate, all with a boozy bourbony undertone. Flavor is sweet, chocolatey with lots of coffee. The bourbon is very understated and lovely, lends a nice vanilla and oak character. Absolutely loved this one.
