Commercial Description:
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

What a great beer...aroma was definitely hinting of the bourbon barrels but not too overpowering, delicious taste and the alcohol was disguised very well, could definitely taste the chocalate tones, and very smooth going down. 09 was the first year I’ve had and man I can’t wait to taste it again next year. DYNAMITE!!!

had this brew for the first time in ’09. drank very fresh and though its very thick and complex, and with high alcohol it still drank very well. aroma is tons of coffee and burbon. some smokey and sweet over tones as well as a lot of chocolate on the finish. mouth feel is almost like a shake. this beer has great presence and flavor. great brew.

Groan. Another beer that could not possibly live up to the hype, and didn’t. I’ll put it right next to Sexual Chocolate on my shelf. When I tasted this I thought... tastes like a bourbon stout. That was it. My head didn’t explode.

Awesome beer. Had an aged one that was dull and lifeless, but fresh its fantastic. Had a bit of a tongue depressor woodiness to it that took away from it, but other than that it was near flawless. Well hidden alcohol and insanely smooth. The bourbon is present but no nearly as overpowering as Bourbon County Stout. Well worth the effort.

I dont honestly feel like discribing this beer. Its very hard to type since i have had a massive (not that massive actually) erection since i poured it! However i will say that If you still think that bud light is good... DO NOT DRINK THIS BEER! you will be wasting it on yourself. It is far far far too complex for you too understand that this is not just some awesome party time, keg stand beer to drink while you and your frat bros. gang bang the cheerleader with the lowest self esteem due too her lazy eye. This is a work of brewing perfection, hand crafted to give you a source of inspiration! So high five your buddy while your balls slap together and reach in the fridge for another ice cold bud light.... you can put this one off for a while!

Had this on tap at founders. This beer is definitely one of the best. Almost no head, dark as night. Strong yet subtle taste of coffee, bourbon and chocolate. I could drink this all day long if it wasn’t so expensive.

A: Coal black with the thinnest of espresso head. So dark I don’t know if there are any bubbles in there or not. There is no lacing to speak of. S: I am already in love with this one. Smoked coffee with a hint of vanilla. I sat and sniffed it so long I had to actually tell myself, enough drink the damn thing already. T: Oh my god and baby Jesus, this is it! WOW! This baby is quite possibly the best tasting beverage to ever pass my lips and cross my tongue. A perfect match of coffee. bourbon, cocoa, and vanilla. Starbucks wishes they had something that tastes like this. M: This baby is blended so perfectly. It is medium to full bodied and slides down my throat sooo smoothly. D: Oh yeah it’s drinkable. I put this baby down so fast I was begging for another

Bottle courtesy of Awiseman01. Pours a pitch black oil with thin brown head. Nose is full of chocolate, bourbon, coffee, and a hint of coconut. Flavors follow the nose with the bourbon becoming more predominate. Also some notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak. Mouth is creamy and a little on the hot side but not an unpleasant hot. Excellent RIS, a must drink for any bourbon lover.
