4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a very clear, light amber with no head. Aroma of caramel, light bourbon, some malty sweetness. Taste was similat with even more complexity - oak, light bourbon and vanilla, sticky sweetness. If I didnít know this had been aged in maple oak barrels, Iím not sure I would have been able to tell that the some of the sweetness was maple, but all of the complexities of the beer mesh together nicely. Creamy, smooth, slightly boozy, some more bourbon - a very complex finish. The finish of this beer is really special - everything that is good about this beer just comes to life in the finish. Overall, very tasty beer. Too bad Iíve only got 1 more bottle to drink!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
[Bottle / 4 years old] Thanks for the nice extra, Corey! Pours a murky-ish, burnt orange & amber shaded color with no real head... just a few stray bubbles occasionally coming to the top. Aroma has plenty of maple left; also getting notes of flowers, wood, sweet butterscotch, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, wheat-y esters, & a strong blend of mint, anise, & licorice. Taste has more butterscotch & maple syrup with a mellowed out bourbon character. More licorice, again, with a back-end, minty/anise feel to it. Sweet fruit in the aftertaste... A weird plum/pineapple combo; dark-fruity & almost tropical at the same time. Boozy finish. Thick, swampy mouth feel with low carbonation. Itís simply good, but itís not great. No real oxidation taking place yet (at least on this bottle), but at this point in time, Sweet Repute is better. Perhaps a little harsh on my rating because I was a bit let down.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rated on 3-05-2010 Fort Wayne, IN Gathering. This beer forms a small off-white head with a short retention, no visible carbonation and no lacing. The aroma is wheat, maple, fruity, and some alcohol. The taste is sweet, light hop bitterness, maple, wheat, and somewhat boozy. This beer is tingly on the palate and is medium bodied. Overall, this is a sipping beer, worth trying and a beer I would drink again.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This bitch rolls out tawny and thin, small bubbles rise infrequently to an etched surface. I could smell booze as soon as I cracked the crown, plenty of alcohol, vanilla, oak, more booze, butterscotch and a hint of peppermint in the background. Flavor is sweet with plenty of toffee character and marshmallows. Vanilla and spicy mint in the background (this is intriguing). Reminds me very little of a Wheatwine, and accordingly, I find myself enjoying this one a bit. The body is medium with moderate on low carb. Would have liked a bit of a simple syrup consstency, but hey, canít have it all.
Overall, and interesting beer, the mint nuances threw me off, and the ethanol is poorly shrowded, Iíd drink again, but itís a mood beer for me I think.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by Mike. Clear auburn pour. Interesting profile of marshmallow, butterscotch, and slight pickle. More in the front and finish than in the middle, as tough it were watered down a bit. Likely past peak.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
What a treat! Thanks to StFun for throwing in this extra on a FBW contest. Drinking on 3/19/13. Bottle poured into a balloon tulip glass. Pours an orange red brown color with no head at all. There is a thin line of bubbles around the rim. At first the aroma was overpowered by alcohol/bourbon with some caramel and maybe some fig. Once the volatile alcohol dissipated I could definitely smell some of the maple. It smells glorious after 4 years. Oh my, this tastes even more amazing. The taste is sweet with a warming quality from the bourbon and a slight alcohol bite. Much of the carbonation is gone but this doesnít matter whatsoever. The palate is a bit thin for what I would expect but again, it doesnít matter. Having this beer makes me want CBS even more.
