COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Founders take on a classic style, brewed with a generous amount of flaked oats, chocolate malt, roasted barley and a healthy helping of Nugget hops, Founders Oatmeal Stout is nitrogen-infused to give it an extra smooth and creamy mouthfeel. An attractive cascade effect gives this beer its forthright visual appeal—and the body and clean flavor delivers on that initial promise.

appearance: opaque very dark brown, typical tan nitro head. aroma: even typically subdued, good nose of roasty chocolate and coffee, with some vanilla. taste: dry, bittersweet dark chocolate, melted milk chocolate follows, with some toasted brown bread, roasted espresso beans, and vanilla. finish: smooth and toasty, with a hint of herbal hops. notes: Don’t normally care for nitro beers, but saw this on offer and had to try it. Glad I did. Excellent beer. Draught at the Avenue Pub, New Orleans trip 2016.

On tap at The Daily Pint. Dark blckish brown with a three-finger beige head with good retention and nice lace. Aromas of roasted malt with chocolate, oats and cream. Gently sweet vanilla and cream with plenty of oats and a hint of earthy hops. Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation, very creamy mouthfeel and a clean finish.

Draught@Craft Beer Helsinki. Deep reddish brown colour with a creamy brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some toffee, chocolate, liquorice and mild ripe fruits as well. Flavour is quite similar, but has a quite strong roasted tone to it, bringing down the sweetness quite much. Somehow the whole feel of the beer made me think of Marstons Oyster Stout.

Kind of a boring offering from one of the best their is! Beautiful black pour w/ a retaiiing tan head that leaves some lacing. Faint notes of chocolate & dark malt in the aroma. The taste is a touch thin, a tad bitter, & a slightly roasty in the finish. Certainly drinksble but I expect so much more from these guys!

Tap @ Konttori.
Pours dark brown color with a thick beige head. Roasted malts and oat on the nose, subtle chocolaty notes, faint cocoa. Silky smooth, creamy palate, otay and malts on the taste, mellow fruit notes on the background, cocoa powder. Very pleasant, served too chilly though, makes this quite watery, gets better as it warms up.
