COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Founders take on a classic style, brewed with a generous amount of flaked oats, chocolate malt, roasted barley and a healthy helping of Nugget hops, Founders Oatmeal Stout is nitrogen-infused to give it an extra smooth and creamy mouthfeel. An attractive cascade effect gives this beer its forthright visual appeal—and the body and clean flavor delivers on that initial promise.

Pint on tap. Opaque dark chocolate with a quarter inch of enduring cream. Nose is dark roasted grain and old coffee. Tastes of espresso, scorched toast and a bit of milk chocolate. Medium body is smooth and watery and has a good balance.

Opaque black color with a creamy, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, oatmeal, earthy hops, and some chocolate. Taste of roast, cocoa, oatmeal, and a sweeter, creamy finish.

Draft at Capone’s. Pours black with beige nitro foam. Aroma is muted from the nitro head, but notes of black malt and dark chocolate. Body is nice with lower ABV. First sip is nice with black malt and oats. Finish is nice with the creamy end point.

Nitro draft to pint at Founders. Looks good; settles into a slightly translucent dark cola with creamy off-white nitro head. Smells of dark malt, dark chocolate, roast, and a touch of oats. Tastes like it smells with what seems like a touch of smoke as well. Smooth and creamy on the palate. Decent, but overrated IMO.

Draft. Black with a tight mocha head. Aroma is char and roasted malt. The taste follows and adds a hint of earthy hops on the finish. Smooth creamy feel. Incredibly clean finish. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(nitro @ Founders Brewing Company - Grand Rapids, MI) Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Very lightly roasted aroma, not much hint of oatmeal. Flavor is pretty much the same. Light roast but not much oatmeal or chocolate. A bit mild and thin.

Tejas (889) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 1, 2014
UPDATED: DEC 2, 2014 Draught > Libertine Bar. Taste fine, palate is great but it's just too small. I don't need a 9% stout but 4.5% is just too small.
