3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: A typical and slightly above average nitro Oatmeal Stout. Pretty decent and highly drinkable but nothing special
How: Tap (nitro) at brewpub
The look: Black body with a long-lasting large tan head
In long: Again Founders have done a good job in packing a lot of malts into a beer. However this one just isnít very tasty especially compared to their Porter and Vanilla Porter I had just before. Smooth round body, distant black chocolate, nitro carbonation creates a superb pillowy mouthfeel but it also softens out the finish too much. Itís better put together than most other oatmeal stout but itís nothing you havenít had many times before, especially if you go to Founderís and drink a pint of their Oatmeal Stout every week.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On the nitro-tap at Founders and served in an English pint glass. This stout poured an almost black with a thick, creamy, nitro head of tan foam that lasted forever. Excellent lacing. The aroma of the beer was made up of muted roasted notes, chocolate, and coffee. The flavor was much the same. Subdued and muted by the nitro. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and ultra creamy. A decent stout, but I was expecting more coming from Founders.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hard to get an aroma ,as it was served as cold as a Coors Light. Seemed to be Nitroed. Aroma eventually became frsh cupcake with chocolate frosting, got some grain aroma also. Taste was mochaish, just tiny hints of the sweetness that makes Oatmeals appealing, smooth creamy texture, very nice but somewhat timid. On tap at Black Party

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Roasty above everything else. Kind or light bodied. Not very creamy or chocolaty. Slightly bitter. Finishes thin.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draft at the pub. Pours very dark with a thick foamy head. I actually found this to be quite boring. Not much flavor of chocolate or malt or roast. Somewhat sweet, but pretty bland.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a dark brown/black (tough to tell in low light) with a medium sized creamy beige head. The aroma is light sweet roasted malt and semi sweet chocolate. The flavor is light bitter chocolate, moderate sweetness, and some roast. Mouthfeel resembled a nitro pour. This is a decent brew but tasted along side many of the Founders big beers it gets lost. This is a solid sweet stout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft at Founders. Pours a dark brown in color with a nice half inch head. Smell is black malt and a little coffee. Nice and creamy on the mouthfeel. A decent beer, but lacking the complexity and bombardment of flavor that you get in most Founders beers. I guess you get spoiled drinking Breakfast and Kentucky Breakfast and truly donít appreciate a well made oatmeal stout like this.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Available on tap at the Founders Brewery, great beer throughtout. Pours a nice dark brown with no carbonation. Taste of grain immediately overwhelm your senses with each drink. Great smooth flow with an absoulte apperication for more when you are finished. Different from the Imperial because there is no hoppiness taste with this model. Great Job!

This poured like a guiness, but thank god it didnít taste like one. Nice creamy frothy head with a thick black body. Oatmeal and a little coffee in the scent and taste. Brewpub said 5%. A little lacking on the palate, but you could easily have a few of these
