tap at the brewpub last summer - Pours near black with a lingering head and a fairly mild aroma of roast malt. It tastes of roast malt, coffee, and is pleasantly bitter. I think it’s too much bitterness for a "sweet stout", but it’s a pretty good, medium bodied stout.

Pours deep brown with a full nitro head. Nose is chocolate and oatmeal, some milky notes. Really creamy from the nitro, very dry. Not bad, but I like my oatmeal stouts with some sweetness.

Man, this is tasty stuff! Served with a fine, foamy, creamy, light brown head that lasts a while and lots of lace. Color is an opaque brown black. Aroma is roast, toast, cocoa, malt. Taste is like nose and has a great bitter/sweet balance off set with a little carbonic tang that works perfectly. Body is great and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and fairly long. Session beer for slower drinking.

On tap at Founders brewpub. Dark brown with a cream tan head. Aroma is standard oatmeal stout with oatmeal, roasted malt and coffee. Body is creamy but a bit thin and chalky. Oatmeal, roasted dark malts and some coffee make up the flavor bill. While it’s not bad, I much prefer my Founders stout in the breakfast variety.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bigmmartin (603) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - OCT 19, 2010
On nitro draft at Founders. An easy to drink, smooth stout that has flavors of chocolate, roasted malts, and just enough hops to add a mildly bitter finish. Nothing over the top, but easily enjoyable.

Roasted malt type aroma with a nutty type notes. Very creamy mouthfeel. Light coffee aftertaste with the some sweetness. Very creamy. Good lace.

On tap at Founders. Pours opaque black. Large Guiness like head. Lots of lacing. Roasty coffee flavor. Good mouthfeel. Still some head left at the end. Much thinner palate then the other Founders Stouts. No problem however at the low alcohol content that was expected. Decent session beer to offset the normally heavy palated Founders lineup.
