Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 28, 2005 Pitch black, nitro pour. Beiage sticky head. Very coffeeish nose contains highly torrefied grains. Lagery feel cuts through the nitro. A dominant chocolate bar is gently complemented by mellow floral hops in the back. Slightly metallic, mostly dry, good overall balance. Smooth nitro mouthfeel, creamy texture, thin-medium bodied. CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 14, 2006 On tap at the brewpub on 4/28/06: Pours a rich opaque black with a dense, frothy creamy tan head. Lightly sweet, subtle caramel malty aroma has some mild roasted notes. Body starts lightly sweet, mildly earthy and roasty with a dry bittering mocha roasted finish. A nicely-balanced and enjoyable sweet stout. BBB63 (3810), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jul 24, 2005 Nitro @ MiBG Fest:
Nearly opaque with a big creamy tan head and good lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate, berry, yeasty esters, coffee, oat, toasted malt, and herbal hops. The taste starts nuch more bitter than expected with a solid backbone of mocha and coffee. Undertone of citrus and smoke but no oat flavor found however. The feel was creamy and thin. A good brew and would have like to try a full pint. goldtwins (3740), Nesconset, New York, USA May 6, 2006 Draft @ Founders: Dark brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Roasty sweet malt aroma with a matching flavor. Bitter finish. Pretty dull. Nice creamy mouthfeel.
