COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Founders take on a classic style, brewed with a generous amount of flaked oats, chocolate malt, roasted barley and a healthy helping of Nugget hops, Founders Oatmeal Stout is nitrogen-infused to give it an extra smooth and creamy mouthfeel. An attractive cascade effect gives this beer its forthright visual appeal—and the body and clean flavor delivers on that initial promise.

On tap at Taco Mac. Almost black with ruby tint at the edges. Big thick creamy tan head that persists. Lots of nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and a hint of chocolate. Nice malty flavor, not overly sweet; some bitterness and dryness kicks in as well. Body is creamy, but also slghtly on the light side. This beer goes down smooth. Overall, a very enjoyable stout.

On tap in a pint glass. Pours black with a beige head typical of a nitro stout. Aroma of dark malts but light everything else. Flavor the same with the nice roastiness but sort of watery other than that. Average texture. Nitro might take away from this beer.

Charcoal black with beige. The nice look of a nitro pour. Oats, strawberries with cream, wet wood aroma. Excellent malt structure is evident with warming, and the notes become more clear. Graham, chocolate, and brown sugar.

Pit fruit, hazelnut, caramel flavor; again, indisputably excellent malt layering.

The body is light but not hollow. The finish shows a bittersweet root flavor and black cherry. Another excellent michigan stout. More body would push those malts even more, but the absence of that allows this offering to stand out in Founders’ portfolio.

Black pour with fluffy khaki head. Nose and taste were malty, nutty, with a touch of sweetness. Palate was perfectly creamy. Enjoyed it.

6/22/14. Draft at Brew. Pours inky black with a nice nitro head. Reasonable compromise for a session stout. Super roasty notes but only a light hop nose. A bit thin body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beer #200. Aroma is robust, roasted malt, chocolate, oat. Appearance is dark brown, light tan head. Taste is great, lots of nutty flavor, roast, I’m blown away for a low abv. Mouthfeel is perfect, creamy, soft carbonation. Overall, I should never doubt Founders. This is amazing.

Tap. Dark black color, tan thick head on it. Smells like chocolate, oats, etc. Taste is sweet, thick, flat body (expected), tastes like what I feel like Guinness should taste like. Stellar beer, easy to drink, thick, but not too filling. Great stuff.
