This would be highly acclaimed if it could reach a greater audience. For now you’ll have to stop in at the brewery. To the beer, its full of malt and subtle oatmeal. If you appreciate Guinness, than this is a must. Dark light body with double heavy cream head. Watching the malts fall is a show in itself.

Pours like Guiness from the tap and maintains the same consistency on the palate, but there’s a unique presence of coffee and cream, very similar to Kahlua, here that makes it highly enjoyable to drink. drewbeerme (1840), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 6, 2008 on nitro tap at the Founders brewpub. pours black with reverse cascading creamy off white head. nose is mildly roasty with milk chocolate. dry chocolate and mild roast. creamy body that leaves a watery finish on the palate. not much of a hop character here. The look: Black body with a long-lasting large tan head
In long: Again Founders have done a good job in packing a lot of malts into a beer. However this one just isn’t very tasty especially compared to their Porter and Vanilla Porter I had just before. Smooth round body, distant black chocolate, nitro carbonation creates a superb pillowy mouthfeel but it also softens out the finish too much. It’s better put together than most other oatmeal stout but it’s nothing you haven’t had many times before, especially if you go to Founder’s and drink a pint of their Oatmeal Stout every week.
