3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted 4/27/08. 4oz sample from the brewpub. Filtered with a honey golden hue. Webbed head. Bright hoppy nose. Good aromas! Medium bodied with moderate malts. Caramel and bready flavors. Tart bitter and hop driven. Rolling hop palate with notes of honey and grapefruit. Solid example! Amped up as expected!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught at Rivers Edge bar in Detroit. Was golden/orange color, somewhat murky, with a while frothy head. Aroma mainly of hops and citrus, with some floral hints. Not too bitter tasting, at least not as much as the aroma would indicate. Was smooth and quenching, was a very nice pale ale, definitely above average.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle) floral/grassy hops aroma. Flavor was more grassy hops than citrus. Decent APA if nothing spectacular.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Short 12oz twist-off bottle. Opened with a pop! Pours like a fizzy bodied Belgian Golden Ale. Golden in color. Big tall fizzy white head. Aroma of grapefruit rind. Flavor is lacking quite a bit of character. Malts do not exist. High IBU, no malt. Blah.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Iím a fan of Founderís beers (Redís Rye & Black Rye are two of my favorites), but this one was pretty average. Lightly hoppy and very drinkable; it would be great lawnmower beer, which is a bit unusual for a pale ale, but was perhaps too refreshing for me to think of it as being really remarkable. Still, not bad.
Appearance was very pale, with a tan body and a fairly minimal head. Aroma was lightly hoppy and appealing, but with a fair amount of apple (ethyl hexanoate?) aroma. Flavor & mouthfeel were pleasant but very light and refreshing. Good, but not overly exciting. Mouthfeel was on the light side, but by no means watery.
Iíd recommend this beer as a nice session beer or for something nice and refreshing to have on a hot day, but it is by no means an "extreme" pale ale/IPA/DIPA, particularly for a beer advertised as "dry-hopped."
I bought this bottle as a 12 oz single from Woodmanís in Oak creek.

I donít know what it was, but every sip I took foamed up in my mouth too much. Like, I was drinking foam. Weird. Really hoppy beer. I mean, REALLY hoppy. It was OK. I was really put off with the foaminess, every drink I took filled my mouth with foam. I donít know if this is intentional, or what, but I really didnít like it.
Itís an OK beer, a bit too hoppy and foamy.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught from Sugar Maple. Cloudy orange with a thin off-white head. Smelled of citrus & floral hops. Starts sweet & ends up in a citric hop burst with a dry finish. Definitely hoppy, but somewhat balanced.

fairly decent in flavor, but this beer wins in the aroma department. smells bright and fresh, and is the perfect compliment to any burger.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small/medium white head. The aroma is mildly sweet malt with light citrus and floral hops. The flavor is mildly sweet bready malt and light citrus (grapefruit and orange). Light/medium bodied, slightly bitter finish.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 2, 2008 My palate loves Cascade hops and like the commerical description states its a testament to Cascade. A perfect relaxing after-work beer. Plenty of floral citrus spice, hazy golden in a pint, nice head, balanced thoroughout. Very well made ale from the folks in Michigan, very well made indeed.
