4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours very hazy burnt orange with a thick slightly off white head. Aromas of lemon and flowers. Nice change of pace hop aroma. Taste is citrus, more lemons, with some earthy malt. Not real bitter, just enough. A little thin, but not bad, overall, I really enjoyed this and will drink often.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle: clear amber color, lasting white head, floral hoppy aroma, taste is mostly hoppy with a bit of a malt presence, slight bitter finish, not a bad APA but nothing Iíll buy again.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A little on the hoppy side. Feels out of balance. The hop presence is nice, but could use a little biscuity-malt flavor to even it out. Just ok.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Orange and a little cloudy- the sign of a good ale. Aroma is Americana hops. Flavor between hops and sweet malt balance quite well and a little on the dry bitter side. Most importantly it finishes clean and drinkable. Mt favorite Michigan pale ale.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orange amber sedimenty laden hazy pour with about the biggest meringue like head ever.. Ridiculously carbonated and a HUGE psssstttt sound when popping the cap. Also underfilled bottle. Very strange. That aside it had an earthy, grassy hop aroma and flavor, along with a very light sweetness. Big hop flavor, mild bitterness, kind of over carbonated and felt like champagne in the mouth towards the end of the glass. Flavor needs a bit more body, sweetness, but still a good pale overall.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy golden coloured body with a bit of an unfiltered characteristic and a very large slightly off-white coloured head. Very nice looking, for sure! Aroma of fresh lemons, limes, hops (of course), flowers and a dose of malt that packs nicely. Medium-bodied; Strong potent hoppiness up front with a good citrus taste and a prolonged floral aftertaste coupled with the hop twang. Aftertaste shows some malt and more of the hops - very nice throughout. Overall, a very good APA - definitely a consistent beer that shows well for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchantís in Dearborn, Michigan on 29-September-2007.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Aroma all hops, yum yum pine. Pours a nice lively golden with a foamy head that settles nicely to a thin white cap nicely lacing. Flavor, mmm mmmm nicely layered hops first floral, then citrus light malt at the end. Palate smooth filling and crisp. This is quite tasty.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 6/20
Founders dry hopped pale ale. Big foamy head even with a gentle pour. There is gunk on the bottom of the bottle, just like a good unfiltered wheat. Smells very hoppy, is very hoppy. The aroma is perfumy flowering hops with some hints of volatile turpentine. Color is foggy light iced tea. Cool swirling hypnotizing pour with precipitants in there! Lots and lots of carbonation, I find this very enjoyable in a well hopped beer. Almost is like an IPA in its personality. Itís not quite like chewing on grapefruit rinds but certainly a high degree of bitter hops for an APA. I just love that bubbly feel on the palate! Every APA should have such carbonation, it makes the bitter bite almost enjoyable. Finish is medium high medicinal lingering hop bitterness.
