3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 23, 2009 Pour is a burnt orange and gold with a white bubbled head, the head dropped a bit after a few minutes, some mild effervescence, pour is clear but I see fine particles floating around, left some lacing on the glass, aromas of light fruit, malt sweetness and floral hops, lemon and orange citrus fragrances, flavors of bread, light toasted malt and fruit with citrus hops, some sweetness on the palate, finish is dry with some lingering bitterness, nice Pale Ale.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2012 1/24/12: dark fruit aroma. Doesnt have the foaming issue like last time nor does it have the floaties. Still lightly hopped. But has some flavor and good session qualities. 9/11/06:Sweet citrus aroma. Not much of a hop profile evident in the nose. Huge head. The contents were under quite a bit of pressure when I opened it. The first third of the bottle filled up my 16 oz. tumbler with nothing but foam. Very much alive. Head lasts and lasts and lasts. Hazy amber with a lot of floaties. Flavor is pleasant; not unlike DFH 60 minute IPA. Only 32 IBUs in this one; light for an APA. This brew is perfumy, citrusy and somewhat floral. Not my favorite APA, but pretty good nonetheless. 7, 4, 7, 4, 14

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark gold with a very large white head. Aroma is yeasty and citrusy, but a little bit more narrow than Iíd like an APA to be. The flavor is very clean with a light caramel and some zesty hops that resemble a heavily spiced green tea. This is an excellent thirst quencher with a fair amount of character. This is not a blast of complexity or giant flavor.

Bottle, the the gods for Founder’s in NC. Pours a very cloudy copper with a tall white head. The nose is superbly hoppy for the style and has strong lemon qualities and a subtle grassines. The hops are very prominent in aroma and flavor, but true to style, it is not very bitter. Hints at lemonade, grass, melons. . .my guess was Amarillo, but it looks like the description says Cascade. This is a very well done APA. I would probably prefer more bitter hops, but this one retains an easy-drinking, though certainly hoppy, session brew attitude. Tasty.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle - Pours clear and almost golden with a big, frothy head. Thereís a pleasant floral hop aroma. The flavor is lightly malty with citrus hops. Itís somewhat too thin, in my opinion, and could be a little more aggressive in the flavor profile. Thereís a good, moderately bitter taste in the crisp finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear golden orange with a thick off-white head. Lightly floral hops in the nose after some swirling. Light caramel, grapefruit/citrus, light bread/biscuit and a moderate amount of bitterness. Medium bodied with a very smooth texture and lively carbonation. Could use a little more "zing" in the nose and flavor.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
On Tap @ Founders! Has golden/straw appearance. Minimal head with some lacing. Initial flavor is citrusy (Grapefruit) then there is a mild wheaty -- more like yeasty-bread flavor also bitterness from well balanced hops. This beer is a little lighter than what Im used to from Founders, but I like it. Itís crisper, and has a nice hop aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle. Aroma: Really good fresh hop aroma. Getting alot of resinous and citrus notes. Citrus is grapefruit but also some kumquat, as weird as that sounds. Nice bready and yeasty aroma underneath the hops. Appearance: Slightly hazy and light amber in color. Head was creamy and abundant but didnít last long. Good lacing. Flavor: Getting some nice caramel and bread flavors. Grapefruit, pine, and fresh grass when the hops kick in. Bitterness is light and refreshing. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Nice clean finish. Overall: I agree with the blurb in the commercial description: this is a great lamnmower beer. Good flavors, but nothing too intense. A nice refreshing bitterness and a clean finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle opens with a disturbing Pop! FOAM baby! I got 6 fingers of foam for 1 finger of beer. When the foam settles down, pours honey yellow. Still waiting for the foam to go down. Looks like those pesky root-beer floats of my youth. Fresh ní hoppy taste. Did I mentioned the bubbles never stops. Not as full flavored as I have know from other Founders beers. Its hoppy taste stays with you in each mouthful till the last bit of it disappears from the glass.
