3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 matthewjk (493) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 11, 2010
Pours beautiful golden and hazy. Aroma of a subdued IPA. Actually taste of a subdued IPA because Founders can’t help themselves. Overall, a superb session beer OR something to enjoy all by itself.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 RoscoeJackson (378) - Michigan, USA - DEC 5, 2010
Solid session brew. Nothing to write home about in my opinion. Was already wasted at the point when I drank it though. So maybe I’m wrong. Go ahead, write home about it if you want.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 otakuden (1490) - Vero Beach, USA - NOV 30, 2010
Appearance: suspended haze with chunks under a fluffy off-white head; pith. Orange and golden amidst the haze. Swirls with blotchy lace.
Nose: grassy and orangey, kiss of sweetness, aroma of flowers blooming, and dryness of orange skins. An overall vibrancy makes her stand out despite her somewhat questionable appearance.
Palate: light to medium body with a very clean flavor profile which carries the flowers from front to middle and to finish, lovingly caressing my tastebuds along the way. Hop leaves. A bit thin, but I can forgive that for now since her flavor compensates for the lack of weight. Grass, orange skins, and a bitterness which lingers long on the back of my tongue. More orange and white grapefruit come out to play, scrubbing my tongue clean just in time for the next quaff. Grapefruit lingers the longest.
Final Thoughts: I was a bit leery considering the initial appearance of this brew, but my worries were without want thankfully. That being said, this has been the least impressive of the at least dozen or so Founders beers my sister has graciously blessed me with.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Thorpe429 (3562) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - NOV 24, 2010
On tap at the brewpub a while back, right before I tried the vaunted CBS.
A: Bright orange color with a big white head.
S: A so-so amount of citrus hops with a decent malt backing.
T: Much like the nose--there are some hops there, but a little lacking for the style.
M: Pretty good. Decent carbonation and a light-medium body.
D: This isn’t a bad brew, just not up to Founders’ normal standards. There’s just nothing special about it when compared with other APA’s.
Serving type: on-tap
