A testament to Cascade hops in a bottle. This medium-bodied pale ale has a distinctive floral hop aroma and refreshing citrus flavor. You’ll notice a slight malty sweetness with a balanced hop finish. Perfect to enjoy anytime, anywhere.

Served on-tap for $2 a pint ... can’t argue with that. Appearance: Nice brownish color with a decent head... lacing’s very nice through the first half of the glass or so. Smell: Pleasant and fresh aroma ... like your typical pale ale, but with a bit more quality in the aroma. There’s nothing rustic here, just a nice somewhat mellow balance of hops and malt. Taste/feel: An absolute delicious pale ale, and no doubt one of the best I’ve had. Extremely smooth and easy drinking with a very, very nice balance. The score may "only" be an 84 for this beer, but pale ales never get very high ratings, it seems. Founders Pale Ale is one of my favorite pale ales, and yet another good one from Founders.

Solid, if unremarkable pale ale. Hits all the right notes, very refreshing.

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Pretty dull and flavorless. Could have been an off bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle from a trade with Queenholly. Color is golden with an amber hue. Half inch fluffy head that slowly died only after the glass was nearly empty. Nose is a nice cascade hop mixed with nice pale malts. Medium carbonation with a hint of sweetness from the malts and a light floral citrus from the hops. The hops are very light and don’t overpower the malts. Perfectly balanced brew. Lighter body gives a great drinkability. Finish is dry and clean. Simple yet very nice.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange - golden color with a full sized thick long lasting white head. Smell malts, hops, citrus. Taste malts, hops, bitterness and fruityness of oranges, citrus and grapefruit. Absolutely lovely. Medium carbonation and medium body. Love it. Fresh, hoppy and bitter: delicious!

Draft. Creamy pale ale with great balance. Citrus and resin on the hops, crusty bread and cereal on the malts. Very smooth and drinkable. Silky, even.

12 oz. bottle pours a hazy orange/golden color with moderate write head and some lacing. Aroma has all the usual suspects for and APA: lemon, pine, orange and floral hops. Taste is slighly bitter with a little soap in the finish. Body is medium with average carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. This makes for a good session beer. Although it might be my least favorite of all the Founders’ beers I’ve tried so far, that speaks well of this brewer’s great lineup.

rarbring (659) - Linköping, SWEDEN - FEB 26, 2013
Aroma: The smell is lightly citric, lemon, grape, bitter oranges and some soapy pine needle presence.
Appearance: The beer is hazy and brass colored, an off-white rather small and uneven head with some lacing.
Taste: The taste has a soft sweetness, white sugar, lemon and lime with a peel bitterness.
Palate: Medium carbonation, refreshing and with a rather straight body.
Overall: A good beer for a warm summer afternoon on the porch.
Note: Bottle at beer sampling at De Klomp. Reviewed 2011-01-29.
