Not impressed with this given the reputation of the brewery. Nothing offensive in the taste, but nothing to make you want to have it again.

355 ml bottle from Domus Birrae. Served into a pint glass. Pours a very hazy canary yellow/ pale orange with an off-white head. Average lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, orange, bready malts with an hint of caramel. Extremely dry with a taste full of citrus hops, some grapefruit and orange. Very pleasant caramel malts aftertaste. I was pretty surprised by the good bitterness since this beer has only 35 IBU’s. Soft to medium carbonatin, creamy texture. Very nice!

A - Pours a fairly clear golden-orange color with a finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some spots of lace.
S - Aroma is a nice balance of citrus hops and sweet caramel malts. Some grapefruit and orange notes. Could have been a bit stronger.
T - Starts off with a nice mix of citrus hops, with some orange and grapefruit notes and some sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, the bitterness gets a bit more noticeable with some richer/deeper malts coming through. The finish is a mix of sweet caramel malts and citrus hops with just a touch of bitterness.
M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth and very refreshing overall.
D - Super drinkable. Solid pale ale and a great session brew. Could have used just a bit more flavor and kick to it through.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Nonic Imperial Pint.
Appearance: Hazy light orange with creamy white head and some nice lacing.
Aroma: Dry citrus and floral hops and just barely sweet grainy malts.
Taste: Very dry all the way through with a focus on citrus, grapefruit, pepper and slightly grainy malt. Ends slightly bitter and almost sour.
Palate: Moderate carbonation, medium grainy body, very dry sour finish.
Overall: It is official - Founders can do no wrong. Very solid APA overall with an emphasis on hops and an unusually dry body for an APA.

Very earthy (as most Founder’s beers tend to be) and floral. The hops in this fine pale ale grab you by the pallet and make you scream. The alcohol content of this brew is not too much not too little. It’s right in the middle where you wouldn’t be too afraid to have a few but just enough to keep you from having too much. I recommend this beer as an "after work, i need to chill after a hard day, and very long bike commute". If you don’t believe, give it a swill!

Bottle. Pours bright clear amber orange with a sudsey off white head that fades to a film. Aroma is herbal, malty with a decent hop presence. Taste is more herbal gritty malt and a lasting subtle bitterness. Palate is thin to medium with a gritty chaulky finish. Nice Pale Ale that is slightly thin.

From the bottle 5 months old. I feel a bit bad rating from a bottle this old, but I think a lot of people probably get a similar experience. It pours orange with an orangy white head. The aroma is dusty, stale hops with some tropical and citrus fruit. The flavor has hints of toffee and only mild hoppiness in the finish. I would have liked to taste a fresher bottle.
