Founders Pale Ale

Double Dry PA @Indiana Beerfest-firkin-pours an off white head and cloudy gold color. Aroma is pine/herbal hops. Taste is pine/herbal hops, secondary medium malt. Mild carbonation.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with white head. Aroma is floral hops and citrus. Flavor is bitter floral hops with hints of citrus and light fruits. Easy on the palate and a good beer to sit on the patio and enjoy a nice summer day. Could use some more hops but does have a nice balance.

Pours a cloudy orange with a nice fluffy white head. Interesting aroma, fruity, peaches, grapefruit, passionfruit, apples, yeast and floral hops. Flavor is similar, fruity, yeasty, some apples and bitter floral hops. Off-dry. Light pepper and pine. Fluffy airy body, medium/light, not sticky at all. Reminds me a lot of Southern Tiers Extraordinary Ale.

12 oz bottle from EZ Liquors. Pours a clear honey gold flat body with a quickly diminishing bubbly white head. Aroma of grainy malts, flowery hops and slightly syrupy as well. Medium body with a watery mouthfeel and a good dose of bubbly carbonation. Flavor is nice with a touch of garins and sweetness from the malts and an some slight citrus rind notes. Aftertaste on this one lingers and is very nice. This one took me a few sips to really start to appreciate it so I’m glad I have a whole six pack to judge this one with.

20080808 12oz bottle from Red Bank Spirits. Hazy, unfiltered gold with sticky white head. Aroma is a big kick of cascades, pale malts, and a bit of alcohol. Prickly body is surprisingly rough, finishes with a mild booziness.
