3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beautiful pale ale appears honey-like in color with a creamy off-white head. A fine balance of moderately caramelized malts and slightly resinous, earthy, sticky, candy-like citrus hops. Itís sweet and hoppy, but soft and teasingly light, more like a modest IPA than a pale ale. Carbonation rises somewhat slowly through the body, confirming that Iím not crazy in thinking that thereís a noticeable amount of residual sugars.
Itís almost buttery in mouthfeel, which is the first thing I noticed about the beer once it was in my mouth. Then, right before my taste buds, it seemed like an initially disparate amalgamation of ingredients all converged into a single entity. Hop oils, fresh grains, and caramel all come together to form a thick, bittersweet experience. Itís just thick enough to keep the beer from being empty in mouth feel and from being too thin on the palate, but thin enough to make it sessionable enough to drink like a pale ale. The result of the dry-hopping really comes out in the finish, which might have otherwise been a pretty empty experience.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not a great aroma. But a nice taste. Not strong but still nice on hops. Fluid but not over-tangy mouthfeel. Delicate finish. Bit of a nice bitter end that fades nicely.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bored at a bar waiting on some people and rating this to pass the time. Had this in life but probably only once and not since when I first drank Founders. Pint pour, too dark to properly describe the color. Strong head leaves an uber thick glass covering lacing. Hard to give a 5 in a pint glass off draft but this is perfect looking clear beer. Aroma is hop heavy with a lean malt background. Mostly clean hey and fresh grass and very light tropical fruit (mango) - all from the hops. Same in flavor. Just a very clean and lean beer with a dry finish. Really drinkable.

The smell is good and fruity. The taste is slightly fruity but really good nonetheless. Slightly bitter aftertaste and is left for a little while in the mouth. Really nice beer to drink. Follow me @ Kung av Ųl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355 ml bottle bought at Craftissmo in Tsim Sha Tsui East.
Transluclent golden honey orange colour with trunks of yeast particles; One-quarter finger head and soapy white foam which fades in 20 seconds;
Small sticky lacing with notable small carbonation; Fragrant sweet aroma of ale malt, with grapefruit, orange, floral, light honey, molasses, very light pine, light lemon and thin grassy hops; Close to light sweet taste of ale malt, with very light grapefruit, molasses, light pine, bread, strong lime, sharp grass and strong bitter hops; Mid to light body. Dry, slick and slightly oozy palate; Mouth feel is on the mark APA: light-to-moderate maltyness. Slick body, citrusy taste is in the background, low molasses sweetness, light bread and limey, and the bitterness take over. OkayÖ Hoppiness is low-fi grapefruit plus floral, orange, and light pine aroma. Grapefruit shades, very light pine and strong lime in taste. Very strong bitter hops than the 35 IBUs suggested. Sharp fresh grassy astringency for a lasting and tasty bitter finish; Dry after taste. Bitter and quite well-rounded to mouth.
Comments: This one is very close to its APA spirit with simple and rather low-fi Cascade fruitiness, moderate body, slick mouth feel, and dominated with strong sharp bitter hops. Simple-minded and rock solid. Itís good for the style but has plenty of room to be even better.

Medium bodied? This is pretty big to me - malty herbal aroma follows through on the tongue - satisfying - nice one. Oh... And lovely label.
