UPDATED: JAN 15, 2012 Pours black ish with garnet hue, tan head. smells of chocolate heavy roasted malt for a porter and coffee. Taste is bittersweet cocoa and moderate roared grain. There is some green raisin and non discript dark fruit, lingering coffee like bitterness. It seems moderately oily and hoppy with some dryness. Lower carbonation and good body, would drink this again and again. This is basically a stout.

Pours black with some head and lacing. Nose is coffe, roasted barley. First sip is nice balance of dark malt flavor and bittersweet chocolate. Finish is clean and balanced.

12oz bottle pours a thick black with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, roasted espresso beans, cacao, with some dark fruity tones of plums. Taste is the same as aroma with some bitter cacao and hops. Palate is a full bodied, creamy, oily texture with moderate carbonation. Finish is roasted caramel malt and espresso ending with a sweet bitter cacao, and some lingering notes of dark fruit and caramel malt. Has a nice rustic burnt flavor. Overall an excellent porter. Very much enjoyed this brew.

Spot on for appearance & palate. I’m not certain porters should have this much roastiness. Darn good porter.

I am not a huge porter fan, but this is the best I have had. Thick, smooth, easy drinking, a ton of flavor, definitely worth trying and a go to porter for me.

Chocolate malt and coffee porter with mild hop bitterness. Very smooth and balanced flavor. The mystery ingredient could be cinnamon? Similar to Rogue Mocha Porter with less hop bite.
