4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is as good as advertised. I am biased because I love Porters. Picked this up at a Binnys, they displayed the RateBeer rating of 100.
I need to do a head to head with Anchor Steams Porter. Both are great porters, I think this one is more complex flavorwise.

Pours dark brown and black, small head. Nose is all chocolate and coffee with malty notes. Taste is nothing but favor, heavy body with chocolate and coffee flavors. Finish is dry and short but follows through.Nice rich porter!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle, pours pitch black with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, some burnt notes and tar. Flavour of burnt / roasted malts, coffee, tar, some bitter chocolate and maybe some charred dark fruits. Medium-bodied and very well-made. Great example of the style.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rich and robust. Smells of deep roasted chocolate malt. Hint of coffee. Full of flavor. Hearty. Slight bit of hops noticeable throughout. The roastiness is rather incredible. Love this brew

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark in color, almost no light gets through, medium carbed yet still has a residual foamy head. Aromas of brown sugar, light smoke, chocolate, light bread, toasted malts. Flavors of burnt/roasted malts, wood, smoke. Very robust, leaves a strong smoky aftertaste, oily, dense, milky texture. A very good example of what a porter should be. Makes me think and feel like I have a beard, mustache, and am sitting at a table in the wild west wearing snake skinned boots back in the 1800ís. And what about two pistles in their holsters on both hips.... Thats it, a cowboy. Giddy up.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at the Bridgeville Beer tasting on 04/27/12. One of the best porters Iíve had in a long time! Typical coffee scent, but with a sweet tinge on the end. Brown appearance with a tan head similar to other porters. Coffee fronted taste, strong and bold, with a bitter finish. Medium palate, smooth, smooth, smooth!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark pours, thin oily tan head. Aroma of vanilla with some faint hops. Full bodied palate gives way to some biting alcohol. Taste is sweet vanilla, caramel with some cascading bitter hops. Lacing slides down the glass.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good robust porter. The aromas a chocolate with a touch of coffee and some floral hops. The beer is opaque black with a small tan head. The taste is back to coffee and chocolate, but a fair hop bitterness in the finish. The beer is thick and chewy but incredbly smooth. I would have toned down bitterness a tad and left the focus more on the malt flavors.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours black with a finger of brown head. Aroma is major chocolate with some hoppy floral notes in the background. Taste is full of dark chocolate and has some decent hop bite on the finish. The palate is pretty full and creamy. This may be my favorite porter and you have to love the price point.
