COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Foundersí robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. Itís a lover, not a fighter.

Pours inky with just a touch of brown head. Nose is pleasant coffee, dark chocolate, and a generic but delightful light sugar. Flavor is rich and expands on the coffee and chocolate notes, with mild but supportive hops, brown sugar, and a light fruitiness. Finish is slightly sticky. Excellent porter.

A: The beer pours an almost black color with a finger of mocha colored head. S: Roasted malts dominate the aroma. There is an intense coffee aroma to the beer that is quite pleasant. Lots of bitter, cocoa powder notes with a light sweetness of toffee. A slight earthy character underneath it all. T: Lots of roast and coffee flavors all the way through. Perhaps just as much bitter dark chocolate and cocoa powder with a light hop bitterness. Earthy tones, a bit of espresso, and some light caramel on the finish. M: Medium bodied with a smooth, medium carbonation. O: An outstanding porter, one of the best Iíve had, come to think of it.

I donít find porters to be particularly interesting in the first place, and even within the subset there is not really much interesting about this brew. That said, thereís nothing to complain about either, in fact itís quite good. Looks nice, smells very nice, tastes pretty bitter as dark brews go but itís good shit. Has a bit of the metallic aftertaste often found in brews of lower quality than I would expect from Founders, but itís not a huge detriment. Surprisingly easy to drink, definitely not a meal in a bottle.

Black with a light compact head; tobacco and chocolate aromas; dry and oily palate, bitter finish.

Pour is just what I like; inky black and thereís not even color around the edges. Itís solid black with a thin head that doesnít last long. Inviting roasty smell. The roast carries on into the flavor, but it doesnít over power the smooth chocolate. The chocolate notes here are not as bitter as other porters. More of a milk chocolate. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. Hops and toasted bread come out more as it warms. Long finish thatís dry with just a hint of bitterness. Nothing not to like about this one!

Extremely dark brown, almost black. Mouthfeel is very thick and creamy. Very full bodied. Taste is slightly chocolate, big roasted malt backbone, slightly sweet and balanced with a nice bitter finish. At 6.5% ABV you can have a few no problem. The aroma is full and rich. An amazing beer.

This beers smells of rich chocolate malts with a brush or smokiness. It lingers with a bit of hop bite at the end. It pours a jet black body with a bubblier head than expected which was brown in color. It tastes of milk chocolate and a bit of smoke with some lingering hop bitterness. This beer is very smooth almost like velvet and with an abv of 6.5% this beer could be a dangerous porter if too many are consumed, but damn delicious.

Could this be the perfect porter? Everything you want out of the style is here. A light roastyness and mild sweetness with notes of chocolate, coffee, caramel, and burnt malts. I love this beer and always like having some around.

Beautiful chocolate milk colored head. Aroma of lots of chocolate and a little coffee. Flavor echos the aroma. Itís well balanced with dry and slightly bitter finish. Yum!
