COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Foundersí robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. Itís a lover, not a fighter.

M: Medium-full bodied. Even, pleasant carbonation, mild bitterness in the finish. O: A top tier porter that pushes the boundaries of flavor in a respectable 6.5% ABV package.

Bottle at Marie Laveau, Stockholm, February 2012. Black with a medium tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, coffee and a lot of dark chocolate. Finish was dry with some notes of hops. A very good and drinkable Porter.

12oz bottle into snifter. Pours dark brown black. Think head. Big malt taste, a good bit of chocolate and a tiny bit of coffee and smoke to it. Borderline Imperial Stout, pretty much a lighter version of their Imperial Stout. Overall it is a very good beer but for the price and availability I dont think you can beat this. Might be the best $10 six pack out there.

Usually the descriptions that they give you on the carrier are total BS, but Founders has actually described their beer exquisitely. I sometimes find porters to be too thin to stand up to ISs but this one is super rich and full. Itís wonderful to find a great porter that isnít some limited/special edition type beer. Easy to get and enjoy.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark brown with a medium tan head. The aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with chocolate an light hop with a nice syrupy finish. Easy to drink a very impressive porter from Founders.

Picked this up at Whole Foods in Fairfax, VA. Poured at room temp into a Riedel Snifter A - 1- Finger head full of leather colors. The beer itself was a dark brown to black. No light showing through at all. S - Nutmeg, vanilla, chocolate and coffee T - tons of chocolate. M - Very dry but lots of bubbles, medium-bodied O - Iím not sure if this bottle was just old or what but the beer was dry, lacked a lo tof flavor and overall, pretty disappointing.

Pours rich chocolate brown with a thick tan head and lots of sticky lace. Big chocolate and malt aroma. Flavor of dark brown sugar, big roast character, almost savory cocoa that becomes lightly sweet. Medium body makes it an easy drinker.

Pours essentially black with a thin off-white head. The head sustains nicely and leaves some elegant lacing on the glass. The nose is filled with lots of roasty malts and dark chocolate. The flavor is just as good and reveals notes of caramel, chocolate and roasted malt. Carbonation is right on and the body has some nice weight to it. One of the best off the shelf porters you can pick up. Highly recommended.
