Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Foundersí robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. Itís a lover, not a fighter.

12oz bottle. One of my favorite porters. Pours a nice dark brown/black hue, off white head, decent carbonation. Aromas are quite delicate, cocoa, malty, but not overly sweet. Smells more robust than the abv might be letting on. Palate is quite smooth up front to mid a dusty cocoa and light coffee. Coffee moves a bit stronger to the mid to finish with a slight bitterness. Really decent straight froward porter, and for its accessibilty, one of the better on the market.

12oz bottle pours pitch black with a slight reddish brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, chcoclate and carmel malts, a bit of bread and very slight roasted coffee. Flavor is mildly bitter slight chocolate nib up front and a bit of roasted malts and slight vanilla to balance. Body is suprisingly smooth and finish lingers a bit

2012-01-22. Black body, small tan head. 3+ Aroma of lightly tangy dark malt typical of many porters, malty core, light roast. Flavour has rich dark malt core, modest roast highlights, fruity sort of tangy porter character. Muted chocolate undertones. 7+ Average plus to medium bodied palate. Simple and straightforward but quite a tasty porter. Bottle 8 months old, via trade with sprinkle

Bottle- Pours a virtual black color with a off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with coffee and a hint of caramel. Taste of roasted malt and coffee with some bittersweet chocolate. Nice bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, smooth and creamy. Good porter, nice example of the style.

Looks like fresh motor oil in the glass, with little head. And gives a spirited tumble down the throat. I could drink this regularly.

I donít know how this one fell through the cracks until now. Bottle. Black with a thick creamy tan head. Milk chocolate aroma and taste with some subtle citrus notes and tastes of roasted grain and drip coffee on the back end. Silky slightly bright palate makes this an enjoyable beer to drink.

Bottle.
Pours a perfect ritmo de la noche with an aroma of chestnutts roasting on an open fire. Too bad Jack Frost canít nip at my nose right now... Lots of roasted character in this beer. Flavor follows suit; roasted nuts galore, with a slight coffee addition. Thick on the tongue. Fantastic beer.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is black (non-opaque, flashlight tested). Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate, husks), lightly hoppy (apricot), with notes of vanilla and alcohol. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium to full body, creamy/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Itís just a bit rough, and not terribly deep, but overall a pretty decent porter. Heavier than most.

Could this be the perfect porter? Everything you want out of the style is here. A light roastyness and mild sweetness with notes of chocolate, coffee, caramel, and burnt malts. I love this beer and always like having some around.

Cheers JoeMcPhee. Thick black, silky pour. Thin tan dirty head. Strong roasted malt, coffee with chocolate aroma. Roasted malt flavour follows through. Chocolate finish with a silky texture. Strong alcoholic notes in the finish.
