Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders’ robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. It’s a lover, not a fighter.

Great dark porter! No slightly bitter after taste like you find in most porters. Dark, malty brew that is easy to drink. Perfect beer if you’re having a meal with beef!

Large, creamy, light brown, mostly diminishing head, good lacing. Normal, dark brown body. Heavy malty aroma, with notes of roasted, nutty, dark chocolate and mild coffee. Moderate hoppy aroma, with notes of grass, spruce and resin. Moderate yeasty aroma, with notes of sweat, leather and earth. Notes of charcoal, soy sauce, toffee, nutmeg, pepper and licorice. Moderate sweet, moderate bitter and light acidic initial flavor. Average, light sweet, heavy bitter, moderate acidic and salty finish. Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Light alcoholic, moderate astringent finish.

A black beer, a head is almost medium and dark beige. Aroma has chocolate, roastiness, coffee, liquirice, sometimes hint of vanilla. Taste is smooth mix of chocolate, coffee, liquirice and roastiness. Medium bodied, smooth. Great balanced beer with strong flavours.

13/11/2015 @home - 33cl bottle from Malt Attacks, Brussels. Black colour with nice tanned head, leaving just a lacing at the sides of the glass. Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, some bitter hops in the end. Nice for the ABV & enjoyable.

Bottle at Craft Room, Zagreb (thanks guys!). Poured a full black body with a tiny brown head that went away fast. Oily, raisiny caramel aroma, full sweetish maltiness. Slightly oxidized taste, raisins, smooth maltiness, light chocolate, somewhat creamy, but a bit light, medium to low bitterness, a bit dusty. Oof, a slightly older bottle, but not past BB date, but it feels older than it should be. Like that, enjoyable, but not the best porter in the world like many would say. Will try to rate it again, more fresh.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2015 Una grande Porter americana.

One of the best, if not the best porter I have ever had. My only negative is that the label is a little creepy! Otherwise this beer kills it.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Opaque, near black with a small, creamy, tan head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, caramel and roasted malt. Taste of roasted malt, roasted coffee, caramel, citrus, other fruit and chocolate. Full/medium body and medium carbonation. Wonderful! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
