Aroma is coffee, dark roasted malts and a hint of hops. The flavor is coffee, a pretty good amount of cocoa in the middle and a decent hoppiness in finish. In all areas, this was a great porter.

12oz bottle to a Duvel tulip. This is my favorite porter to date. The aroma is roasted malts, and a hint of cocoa. Appearance dark black, thin mocha head, and decent lacing. Taste is roasted malts, with chocolate, and coffee notes. The palate for this is medium-bodied, with a dry finish. Overall it’s an exceptional porter. I would call it my go to porter if it was available here. Quality.

12oz bottle. One of my favorite porters. Pours a nice dark brown/black hue, off white head, decent carbonation. Aromas are quite delicate, cocoa, malty, but not overly sweet. Smells more robust than the abv might be letting on. Palate is quite smooth up front to mid a dusty cocoa and light coffee. Coffee moves a bit stronger to the mid to finish with a slight bitterness. Really decent straight froward porter, and for its accessibilty, one of the better on the market.

12oz bottle pours pitch black with a slight reddish brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, chcoclate and carmel malts, a bit of bread and very slight roasted coffee. Flavor is mildly bitter slight chocolate nib up front and a bit of roasted malts and slight vanilla to balance. Body is suprisingly smooth and finish lingers a bit
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jerc (5444) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 22, 2012
2012-01-22. Black body, small tan head. 3+ Aroma of lightly tangy dark malt typical of many porters, malty core, light roast. Flavour has rich dark malt core, modest roast highlights, fruity sort of tangy porter character. Muted chocolate undertones. 7+ Average plus to medium bodied palate. Simple and straightforward but quite a tasty porter. Bottle 8 months old, via trade with sprinkle

Looks like fresh motor oil in the glass, with little head. And gives a spirited tumble down the throat. I could drink this regularly.
