COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders’ robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. It’s a lover, not a fighter.

Black color with a tan silky head. Malty nose with dark chocolate, nutty and earthy aroma. Full body with a grainy slightly floral flavor. Smooth mouthfeel, very little carbonation. Strong drying and warming finish. An intense porter with a slightly bitter finish.

Bottle from Erzbierschof Zurich. Roasty aroma, but not so strong. Good harmony of chocolate and caramel though. Well-balanced throughout and pretty dry. I would prefer it with a hint of sweetness.

On Tap at Melt Easton. Founders Porter is a deep inky black opaque brew with a fine head of tiny mocha bubbles. Nose is darkly roasted malt, smoke and a little dark chocolate. Taste is very similar. Rich, roasted malt, toasted cereals, coffee and again smoke. The body is medium to full. A very impressive porter.

Dark brown body that holds up a creamy, thick, long lasting tan head. The aroma has cocoa powder, roast malt and a bit of coffee. The flavor starts with a touch of bitter roast malt, then the sweet malts provide support with chocolate and the coffee. Very solid Porter.

Marstonlad (650) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 19, 2015
Bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Pours nearly black with a light brown, medium-sized head. The aroma offers roasty dark maltiness and some solid plummy fruitiness with caramel and rye pudding – sweeter and fruitier than many other porters. Taste is light to medium sweet, roasty and robustly malty. Chocolate and coffee combine with dark fruity flavours. Sweetness is excellently kept in check despite low hop levels; the aftertaste is already quite dry, even slightly bitter. Velvety smooth, creamy, medium to full bodied palate, quite silky to drink. Rich flavours perfectly in balance – classic porter.

Well done. Good roasted aroma. Nice dark and viscous appearance with a thin head. Smooth texture. Blended extremely well with roasted malt, earthy coffee and some chocolate.
