Dark, Rich, and Sexy. Chocolate malts and four varieties of hops make this a very full flavored ale.

Thanks to RBlaszak for sending this beer as an extra. This had been on my wants for a long time. The beer pours a very dark brown to black color with a tan head. The aroma is milk chocolate, coffee and some roasted malt. The chocolate is dominant. The flavor is heavy on the roasted malt and bitter dark chocolate. The malt is very heavily roasted and has some burnt qualities to it. Creamy, medium to thick mouthfeel and low to medium carbonation. An excellent porter. One of the best that I have had.

larsga (4435) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 14, 2010
Big dark brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty chocolatey dusty aroma with alcoholic nutty notes. Dry-sweet roasty chocolate and citrus taste with burnt wooden notes. Mid-to-full body. Mild, dusty mouthfeel. Dry roasty chocolate and burnt grain aftertaste with coffee and roasted rice notes. Nice, complex, full of flavour, and highly drinkable. (0.355l bottle, Håndverkerstuene, Oslo.)

Near black with a light brown head. Malty, chocolate aromas. The flavors were very even, bitterness lighter than expected. No unexpected aftertaste, stays the same throughout. Medium body.

Somehow I had missed this one up to now but now I have tried it both on tap and in bottle. Both are similar which is good because this is a great beer. Dark almost black. Roasted malts in both aroma and taste. Balanced with a bit of hops and sweetness. Full flavored but not a thick mouthful.

Black color, dark brown head. Fruity, un-ripe red berries scent, also cinnamon. Fruity, malty, coffee taste. Roasted and chocolate aftertaste, also grainy. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
